Re: RP Gigs
Not many 777/787 RP spots going to new hires going forward, read none. Too many mat leave returns coming back to work part time in the back seat. You can expect to join as a NB FO with a 30 month freeze before you will be allowed to bid down in position. A down bid to RP after that will penalize yo...

RP Gigs
I’m looking at making the switch to big red in the near future, hoping to get a RP gig. Whats the lifestyle difference between 777 and 787? I’ll have a decent military pension so a couple bucks in year 3 doesn’t make a difference to me but if I can bid a schedule sooner or one has less working days ...

ForeFlight. Takes a bit to get used to but once you figure out the features it’s pretty slick.

Every time a plane crashes near a terrorist group they try to claim responsibility. I don't buy it without more evidence.

Re: Lets just dump some fuel
Most C130H fact sheets that I've seen list max takeoff and max landing as both 155K, which is for normal ops, but you can takeoff up to 175, so I would take a fact sheet as gospel. That said I'm not going to dump 20 k of fuel for no apparent reason.

The buff can't be pressurized, Viking hasn't built one so they aren't eligible to bid.

It used to close for the winter, haven't been there in a couple years so I'm not sure if that's the case. Why don't you call the airfield operator and ask?

Re: Landing your first Airline Job
Upgrade at AC/Jazz is strictly govern on your senority, command time has nothing to do with it. I promise you, by the time you get the senority to hold command you will have the required experience for the job. Only if you have an ATPL. The posts above are talking about going from no PIC to a 705 j...

regulations aside, it can be done now but it's difficult to sell the pax on the idea that the pilot has no skin in the game.

I think the most important point here is that if you are still in the clouds when you get to minimums, go around. Every time, every approach type. If you are flying a constant decent profile, sure, but if you are doing a dive and drive you can still break out horizontally. Dive and drive...
