Re: Aviation Medical - Vancouver doctors

I have used Dr. Perold Hill Top Medical Clinic and was very happy with his service. Got me back flying after a medical incident in a safe and efficient manner. He is in a big clinic with an ECG right down the hall, located in South Surrey. Easiest is to just call the mainline and tell them you want ...

Your CAME has a secret unpublished number that goes direct to the RAMO office. Perhaps have them call and check?

Re: How bad is commuting

First off I have done several commutes in my life. YVR-YYZ Absolutely life destroyer bad. If I worked a 16 day block of 4 4 day pairings, it was more or less unavoidable to go in the night before, so now your gone from home 20 days, add an extra a night for that pairing you can't get out on and its ...

Re: Charterfrom Calgary to Prince upert

With 10 people and gear, that is about 2/3rds load for a 1900, so full fuel should be doable and direct on all but the worst of wx days. For example YYC - YPR - with YZT as a solid alternate is 878nm, at the edge but within the 1900s range. Though if Sandspit holds as an alternate your golden. You m...

Re: Medical/Technology Rant

Now, part of the reason for my frustration is that my medical is suspended at present. It took them about a day to turn around a registered letter suspending me - during Covid, but I'm told that it could take weeks to reinstate me - because of covid delays. That being said, I can't be in a unique s...

Dollar for dollar stainless costs more than the engineered materials they are using. Not to mention the high abrasive cleaners that the cleaners likely use are not great for stainless. At the very least the engineered material is wash on cost and is a much more pleasant feeling then cold stainless i...

Re: YVR Airport Authority

Why do airport bathrooms need granite ? Because it is one of the longest lasting and most durable materials for a high use public washroom that sanitizes well. What would you suggest? Also I don't think they are a real granite vs engineered material that looks like granite. That being said, AIFs sh...

Re: Foreign Airlines take CEWS

I'm sorry, but these airlines are still in operation, at least in YYZ. It's not right or fair that they take advantage of a plan that helps their bottom line after a government bailout in their home country. It's just as outrageous as giving the vaccine to federal inmates before every other law abi...

It is not as insidious as the headline makes out. These airlines all have Canadian workers, who were laid off, so they applied for CEWS to pay there laid off workers. Be they station chiefs, supervisors etc. Most of these airlines use contract workers for things like baggage handling and customer se...

Ok so am I missing something here? It’s a job ad that says nothing about leading to a flying job. Sure it may be off the mark here, but HR for them tends to post all jobs here. Everyone just needs to relax. I see no dangled carrots or false promises. If your not interested in it, don’t apply.
