Re: Jazz CRJ crash at LaGuardia

In thinking about this, maybe when there is an emergency response like there was and the Fire trucks are rolling, to avoid confusion in the Heat off battle, maybe all Landing traffic should be sent around until the Emergency ground traffic is at the maim event. This simple "Go around instruction", a...

Re: Jazz CRJ crash at LaGuardia

I wonder if it is time to change how these trucks and equipment operate at these large busy airports? They should only be allowed to cross an active runway at the ends unless there is a full ground stop and aircraft are being sent around. This would help prevent this kind of accident, if a mistake i...

My buddy just beat the change, he is pretty happy. Private, some IFR Twin and passed both exams.

Re: Flying PC-12 and keeping ATPL current

Hey is this update today correct? Was told by a examiner in BC. TC may reissue a sticker for your Pilot booklet that downgrades your license to a CPL, as you can't hold a ATPL without a Group 1 IFR. Has anyone successfully had their ATPL reissued(New Sticker) after this process? Asking for a friend!...

Re: RCMP crash

I find it odd in this report, that they don't mention any speeds at rotation and if she was in "Pusher Ice Mode" w/ the prop heat on! It requires a higher rotation speed, if you don't do that, you get rewarded with a STALL warning and a shaker and in her departure, low WX. The TSB seemed to omit tha...

Re: From PC-12 FO to King Air FO - tips?

Take a look at this throttle movement issue, it was a cause in the last few King Air accidents:

I would have to agree with this comment, its a small airliner with similar systems.

Re: nav can awws site closure

Good point Bob, I get it, but I'm becoming fatigued with this mind set. The sad part is the two big ones have have runways that they are not using, CYYC R26 and CYVR R13, in the Kelowna case, they need to try harder, use holds, hdg's etc. Stop pushing it out to the pilots!

NBAA fight!

And so it begins south of the border! The administration is singling out business aviation for punitive regulatory and tax proposals. NBAA is fighting the attack, but we need you to make your voice heard in Washington. Here’s what’s at stake. The administration has announced plans 5 that target the ...

I they keep Notaming PPR for airports like Kelowna, we won't need a WX product, CYYC, CYVR and now CYLW, unbelievable.

Last month after a technical stop in Greece, the last PC6 Porter ever to be build crashed in the ocean killing one pilot. Sad deal. It has been a tough year on Porter accidents. Police in SA had a wing come off, killing 5 etc. Since the locals snatched the guy, I thought it was a fitting title. Some...
