Smartcockpit.com Mustang Manuals
Hello, I recently went on Smartcockpit.com to download the Cessna Mustang material only to find that it has all been taken off the site at the request of Cessna. Did anyone happen to save copies of these files before they were taken down? Or does anyone have any training material they'd be willing t...

Re: Toronto to Vancouver in a 172. Anybody flown it?
I've done YYJ to YYZ and back in a C152, and also YQT to YQL in a C150. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. Make sure you spend lots of time planning and don't push the weather. Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: DOC just couldn't stop
Our (and I assume most) SCDA procedures say a missed approach must be executed either at your calculated decision height, or at the published missed approach point, whichever comes first. In this case, if the crew was flying the LOC/DME approach for 08, regardless of the mentioned tailwind factor, w...

Re: Navajo going into KORD (O'Hare)
I've been into PWK 3 or 4 times with a PC12 and it was really simple. Customs is available but it is expensive if you go in outside their normal business hours ($500+ I think). My company had a PC12 into ORD the other day and I didn't hear of any issues. You will need a slot time which you can obtai...

They should get Fire Bosses. Cheaper, and a lot more production than 2 a year!

Re: CATSA Rant - commuting with liquids
Does anyone have a link to somewhere on TC or CATSA websites that says deadheading crew members in uniform are exempt from this rule? What happens with corporate pilots who are required to wear a non-standard pilot uniform (no bars, etc.)? Anyone with a RAIC should be exempt at all times.

Re: Hope Bay, Nunavut Info
Haha, it would have to be pretty much the farthest time away from a fuel shipment. Ok, I'll make some calls tomorrow. This sounds like it'll be logistically impossible, or at least horribly non-practical. Thanks again!

Re: Hope Bay, Nunavut Info
Thanks. I kind of figured it would be. I'll be doing some serious calling around before I even think about heading in that direction. Does anyone on here know the status of the 100LL drums in YCB? I assume they only get a shipment or two of it a year and once it's gone, it's gone. Thanks again for t...

Re: Hope Bay, Nunavut Info
Thanks for the info. It would be for a survey job with an Apache...not sure if it's specifically for the mine or for someone else, so permission may or may not be an issue. I see YCB has 100LL only in drums so that'll add some extra consideration. Also thanks for the heads up on the hills and runway...

Re: Hope Bay, Nunavut Info
Sorry, I looked in a fairly recent copy of it but not the most current. Is it a new airport? I'll track down a new copy and have a look. Thanks!

Hope Bay, Nunavut Info
Hello, Does anyone have any info on the Hope Bay airport in Nunavut? I got the coordinates and that it's 3000' gravel out of a Wikipedia search, but can't find any info on condition, fuel or parking. I can't get the search function on here to search for Hope and Bay simultaneously...I end up getting...

I think "Apex" is Canadian Air Charters. Pretty sure "Luna" is Orca's.

Last position shows them at 696 ft and 119 kts about 2 miles from the airport before disappearing.

Re: Navajo crash on final for YVR?
Callsign is Apex 511. Sounds like tower lost contact with them a couple miles short of the runway.

I've been into MDW and PWK (Palwaukee) a few times each and they are both great. PWK is far less busy, while MDW gives easier access to downtown. Customs at PWK is quicker too.

Thanks guys. I was thinking about calling Air Greenland but like you said was worried I'd be bidding against them on this one. The linked map pretty much sums it up...there's not much there!

Northern Greenland Airports
Hello, I am trying to find a way to get a Bell 407 up to northern Greenland for a contract. It would be going to the Citronen Fjord/Station Nord area. I have done an extensive search on every piece of flight planning software I could find for airports in that area, but the closest few I could find w...

Re: LCE Aviation
Well it gives you lots of free time to study and let the time you spend in the plane sink in a bit, which is something that may sometimes get missed in a first job where you're flying ALL the time. And flying into so many different locations all the time, every situation is new. I think it's the per...

Re: LCE Aviation
The pay starts off about average for a PC-12 f.o. (comparable to your 'first job', lyncher). The per diems are great - you can make upwards of another 10 grand a year in those alone depending on how much you fly. The amount of flying time is similar to any other corporate flying job on the planet. I...
