Well, well... I have not seen one of these in a long, long time!

I guess it's Merry Christmas from Transport Canada.

Pilot's medical fee from TC and what an odd charge.

Re: That was a close one...

Shit happens!

No one here that has been flying for many years can say they never fucked up before.

Yes, that was one rough landing but without further info who knows what lead to it.

I’d cut the pilots some slack on this incident.

Guaranteed they find one. Retired Airline dude who makes 80-100k a year retirement salary from the airline plus 130gs from this outfit. An old fart who can’t stay away from flying yet taking a job opportunity from a younger individual. That old fart will show up on their first day, squeeze themselv...

Re: Wow I thought salaries were on the rise

LMAO... Calgary, what did you expect? It seems the salaries out in Alberta are sub what is paid in Toronto or Montreal, why? My best guess is on housing being a lot more affordable than yyz, more desirable than yul with a better tax rate than the both of them. Younger guys want to stay in that area...

Re: FYI... Aviation Document Booklet renewal...

How early before expiry can you renew? If I remember correctly you can submit your paperwork renewal for it up to 3 months in advance. The way I was told is that 3 months prior to its expiry is the latest you should wait before you submit your renewal documents due to possible delays in processing....

FYI... Aviation Document Booklet renewal...

My Aviation Document Booklet was due for renewal by October 01st 2023. On Friday July 07th, I brought all that is required to my local regional office at CYUL to have it renewed for the next 10 years. To my surprise, I was told by the security guard on duty at the building's entrance that no one wor...

Re: Ouch! That Had To Hurt!

It looks like the right prop contacted the runway on the second bounce.

The 441 has a trailing link type main gear and can take a lot of punishment but hell that was a really bad landing.

But that would only allow a professional pilot to fly past 65 on commercial flights in the USA.

Re: 2023 Professional Pilot Magazine Salary Survey

I'm above the "high" salary (in CAD $) for the type of aircraft I fly and would not move to the USA to get their USD salary.

As alluded by others, there is way more then the salary that counts in life.

Fvck Boeing! If the Global Express variant does the job (several countries have them including the USA), why not buy a Canadian product? The Global can takeoff and land in shorter fields, fly further, faster and higher than that the B737 variant and burn less jet fuel in the process which should be ...

Is that a typo? You grossed 210k in 4.5 months.
No, not a typo. It was a good year.

I'm assuming AG flying is very seasonal.

Re: Salary Survey 2022

My numbers are in...

297 hours flown.

$262K includes some overtime and a bonus.

5 weeks vacation.

Since some include per diems, my total was just under $20K.

Re: Updated new duty day info received for 704 ops...

digits_ wrote: Wed Dec 07, 2022 8:05 am Ok. What's your point?
My point is, after reading through the memo, that it is going to be complicated to follow all directives/conditions in how to apply what and when to be able to schedule a crew to a flight.

Hopefully the 604 operations won't be affected by these new rules.

Updated new duty day info received for 704 ops...

New duty day restrictions for a 704 operation... It will be somewhat complicated at first to understand and track all the info and hours to keep within the new rules. This is just one of the pages... https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/b79/mlab601/Duty_-_01.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds F...
