Re: Working while on CEWS

You can work while on CEWS and there is no restriction as to how much you can earn. Treat CEWS like a first job income.. is it ethically right to do so? Some people may say no its not right taking away a job that someone else could do that isn't on some kind of subsidy, but at the end of the day, yo...

Re: How to Move Forward

For what it’s worth, I have 5000 hrs atpl mostly captain multi turbine time in 703,704 and 705(jet) and still no bites on flying jobs. It’s gonna be a tough few years so planning ahead and maybe going to get my real estate license as I have nothing else to fall back on, and living off CEWS and CERB ...

Re: COMMUTING - TAXES 2019

Nothing that turbotax hasn't done for me...I average a refund of around $3000 every year. Takes 10 minutes to complete and a then a few days for CRA to deposit cash into my account. As long as you have all your ducks in a row, its a piece of cake. To the OP, I do not think you can claim commuting co...

Re: raic pass and layoffs

I believe we just got a 90 day long extension and to keep RAIC and passes in case we get recalled sooner than not. Transport exempted airport authorities to recall raics at this time due to covid. Raics WILL be deactivated however while on lay-off until you return to work, whenever that may be.

Re: I love job requirements like these...

The only bogus thing about this add is saying that at 1000TT you’d be expected to be jet captain all the way until 3500 TT to log the 2500 jet pic requirement. Other then that, seems fair..

Re: 2018 Pilot Hiring

If it helps, they plan on hiring up to 60 more pilots soon to fill the void for new duty regs coming into effect for the 705s. It takes a long time-dont give up hope!

Re: Bose ProFlight Series 2 or A20?

I appreciate all the feedback-I think I’m going to go with the A20 as it is a commonly used headset and easy to use. The ProFlight would seem iffy with the earbuds and my ears never fully liked them and had trouble wearing the simplest head buds from Apple so A20 it is.

Bose ProFlight Series 2 or A20?

I will transition into a 737NG and want to buy a new headset. I’m leaning on the fence for both, and I am familiar with the A20 but I’ve never seen anyone with a ProFlight. Which headset is more appropriate and durable, preferred and why. Any reviews on the ProFlight vs A20 in the cockpit would be a...

Someone come back from the sandbox? Welcome to Canadian aviation, where the pay is total crap compared to the rest of the world. Don’t forget the four year flat pay of 55k... woohoo!

They called me a day after applying online. 4500TT and 3000MPIC, online test done the same day after their initial phone call from Halifax. Interview offered within 2 days after I applied online. Pretty quick..thought I’d try the Jazz route to AC as I haven’t been called once by AC after applying fo...

$90k or higher.

Does anyone have an idea which turboprop captain jobs in BC pay $85-90k or more? Charter or Medevac ops. Commuting or rotational work is an option too. PM me too if you like.

Re: Future of Canada's Airline Industry

When you have worked at the same company for about two years and crew scheduling increases your work month by 30% of that from when you started to the max. As per the book until OT kicks in, increases the overnight with min rest by 30% and has no wage increases to match the inflation rate, I highly ...

Re: Future of Canada's Airline Industry

You need to ask yourself a serious set of questions. Do you want to make money? Do you want to have a family? Do you want to have a social life? Do you want to be able to make your own choices? If you have answered yes to any of these, you should consider banking. The aviation industry is booming r...

Pacific Coastal Airlines-US Approval

Pacific Coastal Airlines just got approval from the Canadian Transportation Agency to operate into the US. Looks like expansion for the Westjet link program out West is under way with apparent rumours of a bunch of Canadian bombardier A/C as their option. Interesting times to come-I wonder who will ...
