The poor choice of transport ministers by our failed liberal government is by design and fits their agenda: ignore anything that doesn’t fit their so called climate goals for as long as possible.
Nothing will change until we get a conservative govt. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Agreement in Principle reached
First of all, WJ MEC, thank you for trying to work as best as you could. I’m sure it’s not easy to bargain against such an out-of-touch management. I’m sorry to say but this AIP is absolutely disappointing. We’re talking about inflationary raises!? In terms of attraction and retention, I had a way b...

Re: Pasco, we know!!!
Heard they got rid of confirmed commuting, where you live out of base like Comox or Victoria, and they will commute you confirmed to Vancouver to start your shift…huge mistake. In terms of this “new payscale”, paying Saab captains the same as 1900 drivers is, well, not really industry standard. For ...

Re: EB2 NIW Visa
I recently contacted Harvey Law as I’m also interested in the EB-2C NIW and they did a preliminary assessment of my qualifications. I have just over 5000 TT and 3000 MPIC, Aviation Diploma and 10.5 years professional pilot experience. I’m just a regular jet FO, nothing “special” under my belt either...

Re: Sunwing YYC Pilot Base?
Sunwing has permanent year-round bases in YVR, YYC, YYZ, YUL and YQB for pilots and FAs. One could typically get YYC base as new hire I’d imagine.

Re: Airline pilots: How much do you use your "travel benefits"?
I’m very fortunate to be able to use my wife’s flight benefits from Westjet. I work for SW and unfortunately our passes are terrible (just myself, can’t add family members or anything). Westjet has tons of airlines available that her, myself and her parents can use. We have used them a ton in the pa...

Re: Sunwing Jumpseat
Friend of mine who work as a flight attendant with Encore, told me that anyone with valid Canadian Pilots license can fly sunwings jumpseat as standby. Is this true and is there any other airlines like this? Thanks This is incorrect and your friend is unfortunately misinformed. Only pilots “activel...

The best resource you take away from an aviation program are the people who you studied with. You will know them for life. I was able to land my first flying job through my connections.

Re: C1/D requirement for PRs
When I had to get the C1/D visa, I went to the US consulate in Calgary. Booked my appt online, had a letter from my employer, went through insane security, stood in line for an hour, the wicket lady asked why I would need it so I told her it’s for work. She approved it on the spot and even gave me a...

‘Bob’ needs to work for my union. May it be a lesson for all operators who post ads on repeat: inflation alone is the reason to pay more; the pilots deserve it.

Job Ads
I couldn’t help but notice an abundance of what looks to be like a pre-pandemic job board with all the typical 704s and most regionals posting a job ad. This looks GREAT! We are, slowly but surely beginning to move past the “ETP” of the Himalayas (COVID). In other words, we can relax and exhale a bi...

I’ve applied for the diversity visa (green card) as I am a European national. Super long shot as odds are pretty low but I’ll give it a shot! I’m also curious about this…Canadian aviation is rotten.

Which would you choose?
My spouse is a 4 year FA at WJA and is contemplating applying for the FA job AC. Based in YVR and unwilling to move bases to YYZ or YUL which seems to be the bases for new hires at AC. We are in our early 30s and bilingual. Any info or input would be appreciated. Pros and cons for staying at WJA or ...

Yeah, pretty late to replying to this but better late than never right? Re: Morningstar C208 YVR
It’s a great gig that would lead to the 757. Unfortunately, the YVR caravan job is hard or near impossible to get right now. There are many laid off pilots currently working as delivery drivers out of the YVR facility (myself included) who would pounce on the opportunity if it ever came up.
