Re: Chorus to be sold ?
I doubt they will pay a 300%+ premium on the closing price prior to the announcement on friday... Unsolicited offer = hostile takeover... I’m sure CHR management is fighting for their lives to keep the vultures at bay, for everyone at CHR/Jazz I hope they succeed. Not necessarily. What if they were ...

Re: Layoffs
“Heard from an MLO that only 70 of the old boys took the early retirement package.....thanks boys” That’s rich. And yeah 600 are going. The question should be is when are they gonna come back and ask for more. This is still a very deteriorating situation with this pandemic lasting much longer than ...

Re: Jazz to launch pay for type rating program
Just goes to show you how arbitrary the selection process is. There's a number who shouldn't be here but one individual in specific, I am absolutely shocked was hired. Based on their Jazz training record it should have been an auto PFO. Either they lied in their interview, or multiple failed rides ...

I feel like this is how accidents happen...
TT is one thing, but experience in 705 operations is another.

Re: Potential Strike Topic?
Is Jazz providing better pilots now? A few years ago the acceptance rate to AC was in the ~60 to 70% rate from Jazz and now all the sudden it became 90%. Somewhat of a kick to all the pilots in the past who were “PFO’d” due to numbers games. I don’t think “better pilots” are being fed to AC from Ja...

Thread drift regarding flat pay: I know a lot of people say they my get rid of flat pay, but I honestly cannot see a good reason why... There is no shortage of applicants Even if they force guys with 737 jet time or larger, that is all pilots from Sunwing, Transat, Westjet, and overseas. Heck they'r...

Re: West coast basing
Just a heads up: given that you have widebody time you’re almost guaranteed to be forced onto a 777 or 787 FO position. Hopefully there are vacancies on the west coast for those aircraft.

Wide body FO has typically been forced to guys with heavy jet time. I’ve been told for this class that they’re forcing the new hires with 737 time onto wide body FO as well... yikes

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share
Anyone who even considers giving up scope to protect "their airplane" should be dragged out back and beaten. All the widebody captains are out to lunch thinking they are at risk... I highly doubt any 777 787 or a330 capt is going to lose their seat if they went DOH... they are all under 10...

Very competitive OTS field. Military, Cathay, ANA, ME, Westjet, Sunwing... Some deep backgrounds in a few of the Express new hires too, but also lots with 2.5 years at Jazz as their only job. I hope those newbs "literally have goosebumps and tears of joy." Jeezus... TeArS Of JoYyYyY. ... ...
