Re: Background Check Requiring Current Supervisor
When I interviewed with mainline they advised that they would be contacting my current CP, but they gave me time to advise him before they called. When I let him know, he said it was good that I talked to him. Apparently it doesn’t go well if it’s obvious that he wasn’t aware his pilot was looking e...

Re: Sky Regional?
Thanks for clarifying, the thread didn’t make it clear that he was punted. Nothing against him, but a good move given the direction of the company. He wasn’t really qualified for DFO when it was just a Dash Op. Where did he land, if anywhere yet? (I’m not sure when this all went down).

There was a reference to J.G. moving on. Was there a change to DFO?

Re: AIP is dogshit
That is correct, with one important detail missing. The other 10% from the company is added to each pay. It’s not lost, the company still contributes a full 20%. We just get half of it as cash on payday to invest, or spend on liquorice and pop rocks if we so choose.

Re: Encore interview request
No company is going to waste their time interviewing you unless they want to hire you. Show up prepared and give an honest presentation of who you are and why you want to work there. Getting an invite to the interview is huge, what happens next is largely on you.
Best of luck.

Re: A "NEW" One List?
It has nothing to do with ALPA, it’s up to the entire pilot group to pull in the same direction in order makes gains. I’ve heard so many people say they wished we were with CUPE, or that JM, or Onex would swoop in (no pun intended) and save us. It doesn’t matter what union/association name is on the...

Re: A "NEW" One List?
Madman is the kind of person that believes, within the depth of his soul, that ALPA is responsible for the horrible WAWCON at Swoop. They blame ALPA for that shit show, not the company that created it. It’s scary that someone so mind numbingly stupid is capable of making it this far in our industry....

Re: WestJet Group Hiring Freeze
I seriously doubt this twit is who you think it is. JS appears to have accepted the will of the group and now supports ALPA. I hear he even wears a lanyard, although I haven’t been able to personally verify that.
In addition, JS is far more eloquent than this ‘tard.

Re: One list
I’m an OTS hire. I’ve been hesitant to post given the emotions on display here, but I feel the need to share my thoughts. I fully support my Encore brethren and maintaining the one list. Every mainline pilot I know and have worked with fully supports having Encore pilots on “one list”. I knew what I...

Re: Grooming Update
Yeah the pilots and FA's can go mingle with a coffee or just rest their eyes/ feet for the FA's while 2-3 ground hands clean the plane like a normal transcontinental airline. This isn't a beaver or Navajo which I happily tidy up as a pilot. It's a (soon to be) Dreamliner. Don't sell the pilots the ...

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...
tbaylx, If you think you're in-disposable and integral to the success of Swoop, think again. There are a large number of highly qualified pilots at mainline that will easily replace you, yes even to fill the upcoming void in the training department. The only reason you and your ilk are there is beca...

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft
The “They may not be on AvCanada are were completely unaware” argument is complete bullshit. I’ve had friends outside the industry and entirely disconnected ask me wtf is happening with this issue. Anyone IN the industry that claims ignorance is a liar. Regardless of what part of the globe they live...

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft
Yes indeed it does matter. Perhaps you don’t work for an airline. I can’t count the number of times a gate agent has asked “you guys ok with a jumpseater?” As a standby traveller I take great comfort knowing that the jump seat is there. The Swoop scabs will never get it. Unless they’re lucky enough ...

If someone is using the conversion of CSA positions from Mainline to Encore as justification for a strike, well, I kind of tune out after that. Ditto for moving to take an upgrade to support the company’s expansion plans. I just stop reading after that. Way to keep an open mind there Sparky. As muc...

Thanks for posting the picture landshark, I have saved a copy to my phone. Some jackwagon can remove them all he wants now. Also, what is your justification for having multiple alias’s? Occasionally it happens people want to give information about a certain company or event, which they don't want to have traced back to them because they are either involved or work at the company or for a plethora of other reasons. For s...

Another guy who doesn't see the need for investigations.... Understood. Pointing out that the crew really screwed it up means I hate investigations. Gotta love the lefty loonball thought process, or lack thereof. You're not benefiting the profession with your stance here. Or your employer. But feel...

Re: Halifax crash report coming Thursday
11 pages and counting. It's absolutely ridiculous that this is such a debate. It's not about Air Canada. Two professional pilots, regardless of the name on their pay cheque, seriously screwed the pooch. A perfectly serviceable aircraft (an airliner none the less) was flown into the weeds well short ...

Re: United, again.
The operating crew had very little to do with this other than assisting the gate agents as they identified the 4 pax to be removed. The Captain quite likely had no idea any of this was going on, other than possibly being notified of a delay due to overbooking. By the time he/she would have been noti...
