Re: What do you do if you smell rubber?
I was told if you arnt carful you can keep the breaks on while you are flying. This can cause a rubber smell from the tire dragging through the air.

Re: Refueling float plane in Muskoka, BEST gas?
I use Gergion bay airways out of Parrysound. I also heard the Parrysound airport is getting a fuel truck so they can deliver fuel down to Robinson lk. Don't think it's going yet though.

Re: Cessna 172 1965-G o-300 on EDO2000 with Sportsman needs help considering WING-x
I have a 172g with edo2000 floats. We upgraded to the 180 hp with power flow. We started with the 145 hp. On a hot day and full tanks we had a hard time getting off the water but it was very useable just need to watch what size of lake you go into. We didn't get any improvement in top end but on tak...

Re: Fly in lake in Ontario??
I go on Ontario crown land maps and look for a sheltered area on a lake where I can park the plane. Your first time into a lake take lots of rope as you might have to tie it off shore or in a small inlet and have to go a long way to trees. There are lots of small lakes where no one is but I find if ...

I for one believe in the grace of God. He is not a superhero in the sky but my personal lord and saviour. He gave me a brain to us and also made the environment I fly in and the rules of science that I fly by. Where the coment "but for the grace of God go I " comes in is that God does help us think ...

Re: Married or divorced.
I am happy to say I am married to my best friend. We have been together for 20 years and have 6 children. The problem is I can only afford a 172 so we can't all go up together.

Re: External Loads on wheels
Flying is a lot like math. 1+2 =3. But unlike my math teacher thought as we grow we also learn that 5-2=3 and 6-3=3. So we all keep learning different ways to always come up with the same numbers and if we don't get the numbers it don't work no mater how good of a pilot we are

Re: Aircraft on Lake by Kasabonika
I think it's great that these "kids" are trying to start up. What we are missing is the old guys and the coffee shops where we could sit and learn from them. I had a great time over Christmas visiting with my old flight instructor. Now that I have flown a few hours I understand better what he was tr...

Re: External Loads on wheels
I didn't mean to say others can't fly as good as me. I try my best and have lots to learn. I just get a little tired of people saying we can't do this or that when the airplane is very capable of doing it. Maby it should be a rating on our Lic :smt040 Ps. I thing is awesome when somebody comes up wi...

Re: External Loads on wheels
I get kind of disgusted with general aviation any more. People don't know how to fly out side the box and assume no body else knows how eather. I have told a few people about some of the mountain sides I have landed on and people look at me as if I was crazy or telling lies. When I flew for a missio...

Small cabin on crown land
Looking ahead to this coming years fishing trips and was wanting some input. I would like to store a boat motor and camping gear on a lake I fly to alote. It's on crown land. What is the accepted practice Among pilots as to storing things on lakes? I'm not looking at building a cabin but possibly a ...

External loads on private float plane.
What if anything can I haul on the out side of my airplane. I have a folding boat that I want to fly with me. I have done it a couple of times but heard it's not legal. This is just for personal use. It works very good and us heavy straps to hold it on with. Haven't seen and negative flying from it ...

Re: Air Canada Rouge to expand to Vancouver, Calgary
I had a flight from Florida to Toronto this spring with air rouge. We watched the pilot And two stewardess get out of the plane to do the circle check. Pilot had on Safety vest girls didn't. Then we watched the girls jump up into the engine Intake compartment and pose there as the pilot took picture...
