Re: Layoffs

No. 600 max layoffs until Sept 30th. The 162 is already part of the 600. So max 438 more layoffs on top of the initial 162 until Sept 30th.

Re: Layoffs

162 out of 4499#. These layoffs were supposed to happen before the 1st cews announcement. It was then delayed until June 30 th due to that. 30 days prior notice so the 162 most juniors got the call yesterday.
Up to max 600 layoffs until Sep 30th.

Re: 79 Airplanes Retired

You guys are fortunate that your company has so many different types and no status pay or I’m sure the layoff numbers would be higher. Fortunate? It is why many joined AC and left a leisure carrier and started all over again. When people say ac is more stable or more money, some laugh and forget th...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Just for my friend FL 280 AC reduction bid is out all Rouge position are gone....why you think? lol If you are on the blue side I would be way more worried about AC not making any comment on the transaction. If the deal is delayed by 1-2 years, how small or deeply affected is Transat gonna be? Or s...

Re: 79 Airplanes Retired

My guess is we will be between 3200-3400 size pilot group What is the pilot total now? 79 airplanes is a lot. I know some new ones are coming but this is really bad. Won’t be any hiring for a few years. 4500. Keep in mind there has been early retirements. I could see the list ending around 35-3700....

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

Don't fool yourself, although the AC pilots on this thread might be harsh, yes it does reflect 90% of the feelings of the pilot group towards this acquisition. It's just numbers, there is no incentive for the ac pilots to be happy to acquire Transat. Plain and simple. Nothing against Transat pilots ...

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

I don't see how all transat pilots get a job at AC when we have at least 162 pilots on furlough...As of now there is no chance of that... Also if mainline shrinks, the rest shrinks...Transat ( if merged into ac) might not even be able to show up with all their planes and pilots because of the ratio ...

A mainline guy bumping down to Encore has a pay or block protection or falls right into the 50h CBA at encore?

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

The truth lies in what Fanblade has said. Mainline shrinks, LLC and regionals shrink.
CR also mentions it will be completed second half of 2020. Is Transat still going to be around in 6 months? In what shape?

If the deal happens, as laid-off employees, could Transat pilots not be integrated into anything? Do they run that risk?

Re: WestJet Group Hiring Freeze

How does the recall work? If you are laidoff as a year 6 wsj mainline yyc fo, when they call you back for a q4 fo yyz spot, do you have to take it?
Big spread of pay and lifestyle if you ask me...Guessing wj mainline guys would love to see that PTA gone now..

Re: Air Canada and Transat announce Increased Purchase Price to $18 per Share

And? The cews works up to 847$ a week for 75% max, which equates to 1129$ a week at 100%. Times 52, that's 58k a year. So for an employee making 58k a year, transat can get away with 75% paid by the federal and 0% by the company. For a WB captain, the cews equates to 22% of his salary the remaining ...

If you are looking at a layoff as a NJA captain I suspect you are execpting more than the 600 layoffs the MOA is talking about.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

If the company is forcing 3-4 new hires per gs onto the 787, at least you can tell yourself that your relative seniority on the equipment will accrue faster than if you are assigned an rp position. Friend of mine hired june 2018 has been on rsv as an rp since that time and is nowhere close of gettin...

Yes he is right. And it is very smart to cherry pick those guys with heavy experience from the sand box or Asia. And yes it happening. 4 guys total, all coming from overseas, did get assigned 787F direct on both september PIT courses. Just go online. Now, 4 guys out of what, 30-50 total for Septembe...
