Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

If the company is forcing 3-4 new hires per gs onto the 787, at least you can tell yourself that your relative seniority on the equipment will accrue faster than if you are assigned an rp position. Friend of mine hired june 2018 has been on rsv as an rp since that time and is nowhere close of gettin...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Yes he is right. And it is very smart to cherry pick those guys with heavy experience from the sand box or Asia. And yes it happening. 4 guys total, all coming from overseas, did get assigned 787F direct on both september PIT courses. Just go online. Now, 4 guys out of what, 30-50 total for Septembe...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

To the last poster, you give your preferences during PIT. It is not a bid. Hence the fact flt ops can assign a type to a new hire "out of seniority" if you will during PIT course. Once in the ac system you can then bid. During pit course, it is not a bid. Again, it makes sense and no this is not the...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

It is their choice how they staff 787 and 777 fo. Yes one can be qualified coming from the regionals however it is probably more than ideal to have an emirates 777 fo in that wb fo seat instead of a 3000 TT Dash 8 as a new hire.
Like it or not it's happening anyways..

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Air Canada is receiving so many good resumes from wj sw porter, express, plus all the overseas..One thing right now is all the wb fo open spots..The way flt ops is dealing with it is hiring some overseas guys who want to come back to Canada straight into the the right seat of a wb (4 recent new hire...

If you limit the number of tails at TS, the 2 groups won't fight against each other..

Re: DOH merge.

Why not keep the lists separated and a fixed number of fins or pilots and TS? After all encore is not part of the wj mainline-swoop list. The common employer thing doesn't necessarily mean the 2 lists have to be merged..

All their files are on hold till this acquisition gets sorted out. None are getting called. Poaching from wj and sw instead.

So Encore is not on the same list as wj-swoop?
So there is no guarantee transat will be on the same list as ac, although they will enjoy a common employer just like Encore.

Re: DOH merge.

Keeping them separate with proper language to avoid them to grow, and optional flow BOTL for the guys who want to be on the ac payscale, how does that sound? Status quo for everybody

Re: Who will bid the A220?

Altiplano how do you explain the 8 737 new hire spots for mid-july?
Also how is this possible given the lists on the 737 are full on the last bid? Can they assign new hires to positions not even available for those on the property to bid on?

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

What you need to know is 453 were hired in 2018.
Forecast of 400 2019 400 2020 and 200 2021, as expansion slows/stops around that timeline.
The music will slow down..

Re: Deal or No Deal?

Honestly guys already on the property want to go to ac, and if pfod will jump ship to ts or sw. You can increase the pay by all you want, it will never come close to a 737 payscale and most will leave anyways, for pay but also to fly something bigger on more international routes. Pay is not everythi...

Next bid out Dec 4th. Will reflect hiring needs for the next 12 months, most likely to show 300 pilots to be hired in 2019, stay tuned.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Atleast 200 plus pilots need to be hired in the fall. June 18th gs took some exp and some OTS. Jet time was an asset for the upcoming GS. It will likely be the only GS for the summer. Every year AC slows down hiring for the summer. This year isn't an exception. Good luck to all who applied :) [/quo

Re: Swoop Blacklist

This reminds me of that moment in 2013 when everybody at AC complained at giving up the 15 E175 to sky regional, you all remember that massive thread that lasted for a while. 5 years later nobody remembers that fight anymore..And guess what all these E175 skippers are willing to do exactly the same ...
