Re: Walk-in Transport Canada Hamilton

I would just call. Many government agencies have an automated message stating their current policies before they ring through.

Photofly, its 15 pages long but even the government of Canada is not above the law, Omar Khadr got 10 million when he sued the Trudeau government.
You want to sue the government but won't skim through a 15 page document? You're entering a world of pain if you don't like to read.

Re: Got a letter from a Doctor at Transport regarding my class 01

How was your blood pressure / heart rate when you were in there? Any family history that they would know about? Out of curiosity are you over or under 40? BMI alone shouldn't trigger that response, but BMI with history, or other indicators might. I know they were rolling hard on sleep apnea tests fo...

Re: Hanging up the headset... anyone done it ? Anyone thinking of it?

There's a lot of wisdom here for options in departing aviation, I can't really add to that. The only thing that I would like to interject is the idea that we seem to be using the term aviation when it appears that we're speaking of airline flying. Talk of furloughs, seniority numbers and working onl...

I could put down a long list of my credentials, tell everyone that my mother birthed me in the navigator's seat of a dc-4 while my dad flew an NDB approach with 3 engines on fire, or...I could just say this and avoid looking foolish: Hindsight of course is golden , we will have to wait and see what ...

Re: Quarantine will kill airlines and tourism

They should hire one of the laid off pilots from avcanada, they know everything. At least 1000 mpic though, and an aviation diploma, we're talking about people's lives here. Common sense and critical thinking don’t require a university education. (Or 1000 mpic) 8) Terrific, I need 8 medicals done a...

We had a pilot in our flight department develop them later on. He was down for a few months but as soon as he could demonstrate with his doctor that he had them under control he was back to full strength. I don't recall them being part of the medical history questioning during the medical process, s...

This very post is racist. What makes you qualified to make a statement like this? I know that there are probably plenty of "older" people that could kick your ass. If it wasn't for them snot-nosed pricks like you would have nothing. And by the way, learn how to spell. Combine one part laid off-pilo...

It will also be tough/costly to get out of country health insurance if you are over 65 and have any sort of health condition.

Re: Airlines must adapt to survive

We've clearly been lulled to sleep by some of the best years our industry has ever seen. There is nothing new happening right now, the scale is a bit larger and the foe is a bit harder to vanquish. Aviation has always required the ability to be dynamic and adaptable. We've endured terrorism, gas sho...

I've been through so many of these now, I kinda just roll  my eyes when I get told to get a seat and hold on. I think we need a new phrase. I've been told the music is stopping 4-5 times in my career thus far. The music doesn't stop, this is what aviation does; it rises and falls, rises and fa...

Let’s all just be honest. If it was a good place to work they wouldn’t be throwing out DEC adds for type rated guys in times like these. LAst time I checked, at least they're still working - unlike many of our comrades. I'm sure that most of us would rather have 100% of $130k than 100% of EI... I'd...
