Re: Did Encore MEC insist on no back flow?

The rumour was that the Dreamliner was supposed to fit in there with 1 or 2 737’s at the same time and that they screwed up so it can only fit 1 Dreamliner alone. We’ll never know but it sure sounds like another “flawless execution” from the head shed. Not sure why these stupid rumours start. The r...

Re: ONEX plans

I heard that ONEX was going to pay $36/share before the MAX deal. So Boeing owes us shareholders $5/share!!!! One of the directors at WJ believes that ONEX didn't want to buy us to keep us the second largest airline in Canada, but wants to make it number one?? They defiantly have the funds to do it...

Re: ONEX plans

It's basically how much you thrust ONEX on their plan and ability to make Westjet a real competitor to AC... Personally I would wait to have more info on ONEX plan and the MAX, and whether they would shift or not to the A320 Neo and use the more they invested into a 787 order. Don't forget the newl...

Re: ONEX plans

What are the chances that the deal will not go through??? That peckerwood with nice hair in Ottawa might not allow it so he can screw the west even more? Garneau was the first to approve the deal on 24 June, so the Feds don’t seem to have an issue. A $200 million backout payment is due from Onex if...

Re: WestJet to be sold in friendly deal to Onex Corp. for $5 billion

WestJet currently has a Moody’s overall corporate credit rating of Ba1, compared with the lower rating of Ba2 that Air Canada has. If it is lowered it will most likely be to Ba2, giving it the same ability as Air Canada to access credit, outside of any credit provided from within the Onex portfolio.

Re: BETRAYAL!

WestJet intended for all NGs to be on Swoop's OC, a new narrow body jet at Encore and only MAX/787 at WestJet. That did not happen. Swoop is only a ULCC, with no integration with WestJet. The initial planning for Swoop in early 2017 always envisioned a completely separate operation from WestJet due...

Re: SWOOP - A New Hires Future

make no mistake enerjet is not going after swoop......they will do directly after mainline Westjet and AC. They will be what Westjet used to be...swoop will be left in yxx and yhm and lose money for ever. Westjet is huge trouble I think. what is Westjet going to do if enerjet flies yvr- yyz? put sw...

Re: Tail deliveries for 2019

Must be a slightly dated chart because it does not show the tail reductions in the 737-800 fleet from tails moving to Swoop. It is quite current (31 Dec 2018), the 6 Swoop aircraft are included in the total. With 2 MAX8s and 2 787s delivered so far in 2019, the Boeing aircraft total is currently 12...

How many Max tails and 787 tails are expected by the end of 2019?

I think that's really it... Aerobod... I mean everyone in this business gets it... Flights are cancelled, irops happen... I've met many of the type of aerobod, who truly believe that posting large volumes of data is a proxy for critical thought. You can always identify them by their repeated stating of their superior logic abilities, and the attempts at dismissiveness of statements as "emotional". Always ignoring that...

lol Your stats are so global as to be meaningless. It's a bit like saying that statistically, flying is safer than driving. Yes, we all know that. But no one chooses to drive or fly based on stats. It IS about perception, and Ignoring the power of perception has led many a company to if not t's dem...

Re: Cancelled flights.

You fail to recognise that the OTP performance you state for WS4 is based on brakes off time. Not arrival time, or even left the gate time. While departure +00 is an important metric, it doesn't account that in that sample the aircraft went to YYT, YHZ, and KEF, hardly on-time into YYZ for those fo...

Re: Cancelled flights.

Your self-generated statistics don't line up with other available data in this instance, and your comparability of entire scope of operations is invalid. Further, if you can't understand that a flight sold as non-stop departing "on time", tech stopping, and arriving hours late, really isn't on time...

Here's the AC857 stat from flight aware... average departure delay <:10 average arrival delay :10-:20 seems divergent from what you have... Yeah the pilots and FA's can go mingle with a coffee or just rest their eyes/ feet for the FA's while 2-3 ground hands clean the plane like a normal transcontinental airline. This isn't a beaver or Navajo which I happily tidy up as a pilot. It's a (soon to be) Dreamliner. Don't sell the pilots the ...

Although they don't seem to have an annual report more recent than 2015-2016, it looks as though the CIRB does get quite a few DFR complaints: http://www.cirb-ccri.gc.ca/eic/site/047.nsf/vwimages/AR2015-2016_graph3_eng.jpg/$file/AR2015-2016_graph3_eng.jpg Source report: http://www.cirb-ccri.gc.ca/ei...
