Re: Bose A20 vs A30

My experience is the A30 is more sensitive to requiring a perfect seal and will make more annoying sounds when not perfectly sealed. I’m sticking with the A20

Try it with hot water next time!

Fuel starvation will illuminate the fuel pump inop light. They may have forgotten to switch to inboard tanks for landing or ran out altogether.

I've tried quite a few headsets and for me the a20 is the way to go. I haven't tried the newest ones that came out in last 4 years so I am also curious how guys like the new ones.

I met Bob at his Carman hanger about 5 years ago. Very interesting visiting with the man! I had a chance to see the defender and numerous other planes, even have a few pictures of the defender somewhere.

I see the Hercs and F18s there regularly. They've been training when I asked. Even got a tour of the Herc the other day! Apparently the fueler in CYOD doesn't or wasn't operating on weekends for a while hence the reason they came to YEG Friday-Mondays.

Re: Logbook Question

I kept a paper and excel log till shortly after my ATPL, then stopped with the paper log. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem? I was recently checked out on a new type and after the flight the guy wanted to sign me off in my logbook. I hadn't thought of that scenario when I stopped with the pape...

Re: Per Diems

I came across that page as well, my understanding is that's the amount you can claim when doing year end taxes. I can't claim that because it's already been reimbursed to me by my employer. At least that's what CRA explained to me. I'm looking for a set amount my employer can legally pay me tax free...

Per Diems

I have for the last number of years at my company gotten $35/day for meals. If overnighting my employer covers my room or reimburses me for that cost. I recently requested an increase in per diem pay and was told they're willing to increase it if I find out what is fair and legal so we don't run int...

Re: Legal or not

How does this work when a pilot is hired to do a one or two day ferry flight for a private company and a privately registered airplane? Is it legal for the pilot to write out a bill and then just claim that amount as income at year end?

Not sure about overnights but Handling fees at EFC are now $80 for a quick turn around. I haven't seen a leading fee for awhile but I think those were around $20-30. This is for Navajo.

Re: For all the Courtesy Air Alumni out there

FYI, I think all of Courtesy's planes are in Lloydminster sitting in front of their hangar outside. I'm not sure if any are up north. In CYLL, I see 2 B190, 3 PA31, 2 Be99, BE60 (I think), Be58. I don't see any BE10's. Maybe they are in the hangar? There's 2 jets in the hanger and a few 100s. 15 ai...
