shipped a van from vancouver to winnipeg on a truck for about $400 last year. I think we looked into such a 'driving' service, but found shipping the vehicle to be the most economical, especially when you take the mileage into account.

Re: oh man

Are you for real? ... No, I'm the fucking tooth fairy. What was the point of this post? You missed obviously missed it... but I was pointing out a POSSIBLE safety issue that could effect all of us... and the traveling public. Sure I don't drive -18s or fly formations regularly, but when I see an un...

Re: waste of time

Nord just admit your wrong. Chances are a CF-18 driver knows a little more about this kind of thing then you do. Besides they fly even close in the movies, so it must be right. Beacon  lol My main point was: "Was this kind of (relatively) tight formation flying... in the best interest of fligh...

MIG

no worries man.

You're right, they were likely taking a look in the flight deck and making sure all was well.

You're right, at night or in bad vis such an operation would be more risky.

The XB-70 was on a test flight and had typical chase planes for a test flight. By your statistical reasoning it is unsafe to fly over Germany because of all the aircraft that crashed there in the 1940's. That's just one incident, but it highlights the hightened danger of putting several aircraft in...

Rebel I don't dispute that a proper, legal intercept occured... and I'm familiar with the regs, thanks. I just figure that because the fighters and airliner were surely in radio contact long before the formal interception, the fighters bearing in tight on the airliner was a collision risk that prese...

"After all the accidents that have occured involving fighter escorts crashing into other aircraft in their formation" What are you talking about? Historically speaking... there have been many incidents where aircraft flying in formation have collided. I don't know if its statistically significant.....

Children of AC Pilots get an interview?

I recall reading somewhere (on a message board, not somewhere credable) that the sons / daughters of Air Canada Pilots are entitled to an interview with the company once they reach the minimum pilot hiring criteria. Aparently, this is laid out in the current ACPA/Air Canada contract. Is this true? A...

More than once, I've taken friends flying in GA aircraft...

hearing a lady controller on the radio, I remember my friends saying "wow... she sounds hot" and making coments on each of several flights!

Seems like this happens a lot!

UK Citizen in Canada

At 22 with an ICAO (Canadian) CPL / MIFR is there any flying to be had in Europe?

I was born in Canada and have lived here all my life, but I hold dual UK Citizenship through my mother.

Cheers :)

With their stated intention to buy basicly any Metros they can get their hands on, what kind of an increase in flight crew staffing do you forsee at Perimeter Airlines? How many crews would the airline employ per aircraft? Will crews continue to be based in Winnipeg or will there be a growing emphas...
