The F14, F15, F16, Tornado were all better and still are in comparison to the 18.

So in 30-50 years time we will too, be looking at how we fucked up choosing the F35.
Couldn’t agree more.

Let your balls drop, put some hair on your chest, crack a beer open, log on to spruce and order a pair of H10-13.4. Noise cancelling is for yellow bellies.

Re: A past tragedy (runaway Van) Hudsons Bay North of YAM

The original thread line came through at the end as leaning towards the possibility of an emotional tragedy ? so the discussion was pretty much hands off (for respect to family) fairly soon after some disclosure on that was pitched on the original thread, ... which by now had turned into ' a long t...

Re: VFROTT Logging

You are describing how to navigate. Following a little needle when flying under blue skies is quite a bit different than following the same needle when you are inside a cloud. A good test is this: would I be dead without the 6-pack? If you answer yes, it's instrument time. Hey, just an old diesel 8...

Re: VFROTT Logging

If you need the instruments to keep the plane right-side-up, it's instrument time. If you can keep the plane under control by looking outside, then it's not instrument time. The flight rules you are flying under is irrelevant. VFR OTT requires utilising a form of navigation other than pilotage; aka...

Porter Mentorship Program

Just read this article: https://www.wingsmagazine.com/news/porter-creates-program-to-help-mentor-aspiring-pilots-14380 Just curious as to why they do not include schools at their home base at City Center? Granted it's been a while since I have been there, but there was ATI, Canadian Flyers, Island A...

All I can say is for the price of one... you can buy 10 AT-6 Wolverines and strap some AIM-120 AMRAAMs and AIM-9 Sidewinders on her and be better off. You will just get all the turd-nuggets arguing about "single engine this" and "single engine that" If anything go with the Scorpion ISR/Strike aircr...

Re: Thunder Air's New PC12s Now in Operation

Not sure about Bearskin. I was informed they were NGs factory new. Maybe they are using pre owned till the NGs arrive? Anyone? Most likely ordered them a while ago and are just now putting them into service. Makes sense that they ordered them a while ago. Don't think many companies would be orderin...

Re: When to set off a PLB?

If you can verify the ELT is going off, I would hold off until the ELT dies if it takes that long. If at that point no one has come fire off the PLB. If you feel yourself blacking out or potentially losing consciousness, fire it off immediately. If you can not verify the ELT is going off, I would se...

But xchox is right. I will throw in...don't fire the bottles just for a pylon overheat.

Re: Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Tunnel opening on July

Wait... Didn't the people of Toronto pay porter and the TPA something like $40million to not build a fixed connection to the Island? Shouldn't porter have to pay back the money to the tax payer and a fine of some sort? I also enjoy them trying to get jets out of that Island when there is an existing...

Abandoned Aircraft

A few questions if you will: At what point (if ever) is an aircraft considered abandoned? If an aircraft is left abandoned on your property; Can you sell it? If one were to purchase an aircraft as above with zero paperwork, Can it be legally airworthy again? and if so what would be the process to bu...

Any cracks allowed whatsoever? I was told that certain cracks are allowed at the root on the non-leading edge. (If that makes any sense) I was always under the impression any blade, any crack, automatic scrap.

Re: Porter - Two smoke related diversions.

I believe the crew acted in the best interest of the passengers and themselves given what was known at the time. However, I still find it strange that passengers could take a picture while a response unit appears to be inspecting for sources of fire. Nice to see the Monday morning quarterbacks out.....
