Apparently they're building a "resume pool" But everyone I know that has ever worked there has never had anything good to say. From lying to the staff about what they're going to pay them to the airline side working the employees up to 120 hours in 14 days then not paying for stat holidays because a...

Every resume that comes across my desk saying something to the effect of "will fly for free" or "will pay for checkout" get their own special pile in which I tell all my other buddies NOT to hire these scabs. This business is small it's about time we use it's size for the good of the many. Pilots ar...

I love how the media always says "stalled" in there should be laws against media saying any details about an accient until an avation professional is there. But I have to agree with others saying this was a bad decision that led into an unfortunate situation. I thoughts go out to the families and fr...

Great post from both opinions. I wonder what the general public would think of the fact that if something happened to the captain that they have someone fresh out of school to bring them safey back to the ground? I know the training is excellent but only experience can help you when faced wth a situ...

RAIC Card

Now this in my opinion is just a make work prokect for someone. To get onto the airside access in some airports you need to present your pass up to 15 times a day to the same registered keyholder (to whom you presented this pass and traversed this entire routine thousands of times before) Then scan ...

Yakin Cojo's

Ok I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who can't get the cojo to shut up. I don't mind conversationin the cockpit but the job's gotta get done. I have to cut the kid off to get SOP calls in. It doesn't stop inside the cockpit either. Whether talking to ATC or the gate agents, it seems he needs t...

"The National" TCAS Story

Is anyone else upset about how "The National" told the story about TCAS? A bloody pack of lies! If you're going to tell a story about aviation at least make it fact. As the pilot's they interviewed were telling their stories you could here in the back that what the pilots were saying wasn't even clo...

!!!HELP!!! Sioux lookout

Just wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences with Sioux Lookout. Positive, Negative, PM me if you'd like or post here. Also rent and cost of living estimates would be great. How about the airport and companies there???

Cheers!

Mopst of the time when the controller wants you to do a certain approach, they will clear you for that particular approach. By my experiences, in a non-radar environment, usually you just get cleared for "an approach, visual approved if able"

Help any?

Things are only now starting to get better. But as long as the honest, hard working ones are shadowed by the guys who's daddy got them the job and the other guys who prostitute themselves, there will not be a balance. I agree in the high time but pay the salary and if you say 1000 hours, don't hire ...

I've heard of a gentleman (from a great source) who was asked, while flying his empty B200, by center how fast he could descend. He then proceeded to employ reverse from FL220. He then swore he would never do that again.

I can only talk about Moncton because that's my only experience in instructing, but apparent;y they pay pretty good. I had no trouble getting 20 hours per week there on average and the pay scale is as follows... Class / Flying and briefing / Groundschool 4 / 16.50 / 19.50 3 / 20.50 / 23.50 2 / 24.50...

Jobs after MFC

Personally I've been one of the lucky ones. I've worked for FPL in Miramichi, did my Instructor Rating and flown a King air. Other members of my graduating classes have gone on to be captains on Navajo's, PC-12's, Caravans, King Airs, DC-3's and 1900's. Yes it's true that immediately after you leave...

Good one XS. Just a quick note on how fast things can and do go south. While I was doing trining in a B200 simulator, the PF was doing a circlig approach in dirty weather at night while I (acting as PNF) was monitoring the instruments. I called "airspeed low" and he said "correcting". Normally this ...

My personal opinion is that left seat in a centre line thrust (MPIC) is WAY better than right seat in a conventional twin. Doesn't matter what type of plane it is, you'll inevitably upgrade faster with a couple hundred hours of multi PIC.

I curretnly fly in that situation near exactly that situation. As a matter of fact we landed yesterday in VV001 1000RVR (only given to us after the FAF). The PNF called lights in sight and I looked up and flew them down. He would only call them in sight once he's 100% sure of them and that we will m...
