Re: New pot legislatiion brings on talk of pilot pee in a cup
I think we often forget flying is a privilege. If I have to pee in a cup, then so be it. So is driving. Would you support random drug testing on the highway? They already do it for alcohol and they're working to get a reliable, portable test for pot as we speak. https://www.danmanning.ca/wp-content...

Re: Pilot shortage “slowing down “
Don’t kid yourself a lot of 703 operations would rather close up shop than give you what your worth. From a business point of view that does not make any sense. Maybe they just can not afford to pay more? C'mon now .. Everyone knows (or at least many pilots seem to think) that small aviation operat...

Re: Navajo lands on the street in yyc
Sketchy information to say the least. Actually, it would be better described as factual information. Are we to assume that this was fuel starvation or fuel contamination? Why not wait till the investigators do their work instead of assuming on insufficient facts to make a determination? From Merria...

linerew - I have no anger in me. I do have some sadness related to the state of aviation these days. As I said I am indebted to you for showing me the error of my ways. I certainly did say program your radios and such before taxiing, but anyone with more than a grade 3 education would realize in gen...

Re: TSB investigating after 2 private jets crash on the ground at Winnipeg airport
Thanks "linecrew", you've made me realize the error of my ways - and I feel shame. I will no longer expect pilots to look out the windows while taxiing and make sure they aren't going to hit anything with their aircraft. If you happened to be the guy marshalling him I hope you gave him a big hug and...

Got 'er all figured out already? Yeah, pretty much. Let me know when you find out I'm wrong. Sounds like you have the inside scoop...care to share with the rest of us? Let's see.......clear day, middle of afternoon, taxis directly into (no wingtip brush here) a parked aircraft. How much "inside sco...

Seriously. Harrison Ford lands on a Taxi way and this forum blows up how he should loose his Licence and how private pilots have no right to fly. These guys don't even land on a runway our taxi way and we say no harm no fowl. I don't think one guy's comment can be taken as "we say". And anyway, it ...

Re: Another op bites the dust Island Express Air Suspended
“It’s nothing that’s not fixable.” Pretty cavalier attitude to have, no? What's cavalier about a company saying that TC's findings are being addressed, the operation improved and going back on line soon? That's the approach every aviation takes when there are findings by TC either through an audit ...

Re: American Express (Premium Plaza) Lounge will now require a boarding pass
You said it complex. Every lounge is now full of pilots in uniform. It should have been obvious to all what was going to happen. But how can that be? I thought the ongoing argument was that pilots were all professionals and should be treated that way? Would professionals stoop so low as to try and ...

Re: Would you say working as an air traffic controller is a job or a career?
Go to the airport and look at the parking lots. First where the ATC folks park and then where the pilots park - a big part of your question will be answered.
