Re: Boeing 737 doesn't have synthetic vision

EGPWS, while it doesn't have a 3D view of the terrain, it does have a top down view. I can't imagine a situation where someone would have a cfit accident in a modern airplane that would of been saved by a synthetic vision display. Money on that sort of system is better spent elsewhere IMHO. Cheers D5

Re: VIP Laminated Charts

I don't remember how much I paid, but I had my maps laminated myself when I got them. I thought it was worth it to ensure that they would last until the next revision. As for the ink, use a permanent marker. No ink on your hands and it will erase quite easily with any white eraser. That's what I use...

Re: I need help, again.

If time is way more important than money, then I'm sure that London Air Services could do the job, with a few lears, or potentially something bigger if required. If your clients are somewhat flexible on time and want to save a whack of money, then WestJet flies from Vancouver to Palm Springs as well...

Ever since three became phased out; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_engineer

When in history did we move from one pilot to two, well that was pretty early on in aviation history.

You know what's been an absolute lifesaver on this forum, the ignore list. Completely blocks you from seeing any posts from a given user. I'm sure we can all think of someone who's posts you would of rather have never read. Give it a try Cat, makes for nicer reading. I just wish that it could block ...

If we're all being scientifically correct...a Beech 1900 is B190 according to transport....if were all gonna play this game we better play by the rules  Huh, all those years of beech 1900 time go down the drain because my company apparently did a type rating on a BE02?? Sorry couldn't ...

Re: HELP! Telex 850ANR Versus Seinnheiser HMEC 46 ANR for B7

So I take it the other posters who flew with the uflymic setup either had a hot mic or sat in the left seat? I wouldn't mind the noise cancelling in just one ear, I just picked up a telex 750 and find that I have a hard time making out ATC transmissions For those of using a 5x5 did you ever have pro...

Re: HELP! Telex 850ANR Versus Seinnheiser HMEC 46 ANR for B7

For those of using the Bose QC2's and uflymic combo, how do they work for sitting on the copilot's of the cockpit. No intercom in the 37 I fly so I need to uncover the left ear. Anyone using it on the right side of the airplane?

Not to self promote too much here, but feel free to steal the formula's off my logbook. It's easy enough to adapt, and it did take me a while to figure out myself

That's pretty awesome, though a quick question for the 47 guys out there, how did they get the nose gear out without the mains?

Re: Here is a wake up...or back to sleep!!!

From an owners standpoint why would you pay someone to do something they love to do and will do if you just let them? I wouldn't mind taking a stab at that question. Because the owners will get what they pay for. While they might be able to attract some people that are very passionate about their j...

*********1900 PILOTS******* I don't want to speculate on the CMA crew's actions, it's a pet peeve of mine when people comment from the sidelines before all the information is known. However there has been quite a few similar incidents, so I'm commenting on the 1900 systems in the hopes that someone ...

I did, the last thing Dave P said, was that he was hoping to start interviewing this fall, and that was in late July. I was looking for any updates, as I've heard a few things from my friends inside.

He's an idiot for two reasons, one for doing what he did, second for posting it on youtube. I do hope the FAA finds him and pulls his license.

Re: Pay Day Loan Operations

So are you upset that banks aren't subject to the same regualtion? Would you feel better if the limits on banks where removed, and any institution could charge whatever intrest rates they see fit?

If someone is willing to take out a loan for 200% interest, why do you wanna stop em?

Just to play devils advocate........ How far do you want to go to save people from themselves? And where do you draw the line of what interest rate is unreasonable? Are credit card companies any better? Banks are okay? Perhaps people who aren't smart enough/want to "sell themselves into serfdom", sh...

I'll answer 100% politely on the radio, but I'm not happy to taking the vector. Why? I understand the need to build spacing, but why not do it a bit further back with a speed restriction? Flying out into the middle of nowhere is just plain ole inefficient.
