Re: PUSH PUSH, IN THE BUSH
SMS was another way for T.C. to distance themselves from liability but in a way it's like asking drivers to police themselves on the highway. The Caravan, if flown inside it's flight envelope is a fine machine. If this aircraft was in flight conditions not suitable for a 208 and it's not common comp...

Re: Chief Pilot Yes or No ???
Yes, what oldtimer said.
Also, make sure you get the authority that goes with that CP responsibility otherwise you will be a yes-man. Not a fun place to be.

Re: Buffalo C-46 at Deline.
"These old warbirds have had their day and it has passed" That's a pretty ignorant statement fish4life. If that's the case we better pull all the Beavers out of the sky as well since many of them are only a few year younger than "warbirds" are. Perhaps your first call should be to..let's say...Harbo...

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
Interesting article Mr. Fleet. Thanks. I agree with AirFrame and this article refers to show lines, distances from crowd and energy direction but the Hunter crash had nothing to do with the spectators at the show. Also: "We have thousands of air shows every season in North America" Really? "And pilo...

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
Yes, thanks very much for the post cgzro. I believe your comments and ideas in your Bottom Line is an excellent approach to a difficult problem. It would, at very least stimulate some positive conversation. Bravo Mr. Fleet, As someone who has "been around airshows, warbirds, etc etc for a long time"...

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
Well Mr. Fleet, I appear to have hit a nerve. Not my intention. I asked the questions of you based on your previous blanket statements which come across with some authority. Just figured you had the knowledge base to provide some follow up detail. We were discussing risk management and low level air...

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
I agree completely that the display must be flown within the safe envelope of the said aircraft and that these accidents are not limited to warbirds. But, this was a historic (warbird type) of aircraft. Mr. Fleet, you stated: "There is a fair amount of training involved to become "high performance q...

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
You misunderstood me. I'm not referring to the structural integrity of the Hunter. We were discussing low level aerobatics in vintage aircraft and I am asking if that aircraft was designed for the attempted maneuver (which was at very low level)?

Re: Sussex Airshow Crash
Mr Fleet, I believe the previous poster was referring to the continuous loss of warbird aircraft and pilots while doing low level aerobatics as apposed to performing simple less risky flybys. This is a terrible tragedy which undoubtedly will change airshows in the U.K. My question for you: How would...

Re: Beech 18 on floats.
Hey Cat Driver, For me, the Wobbler on floats is the most underrated bush plane out there. Strong, will carry an honest load, fast and comfortable for passengers. They are relatively inexpensive to purchase. Start with a good machine with two sound 985's, keep on top of the snags and they are pretty...
