Re: Chartright Promoting From Within

When I did that exact interview for flight follower with Mr. Armstrong in around 2009, the direct answer from his mouth was no we don’t. Go and get some operational experience first and we’ll meet with you again for a pilot position. Maybe things have changed quite a bit in 10 years...

Re: Will we ever stop shooting ourselves in the foot?

The difference between the US market and Canada is insane! Regionals giving $30k signing bonuses, and $80k salary for flying a metroliner! People here seem to have pride in being abused and pretty much demand everyone spend 2 years on the ramp insisting it's a necessary step (which only exists here...

If captaincooll was paying for the tickets with a stolen credit card then doesn’t that mean AC isn’t out any money at all? And in fact simply sold the seats at full price?? Perhaps I am missing something?..

As far as traditional corporate flight departments go there are none in YYZ that I know of that offer rotational work. Fractional or charter outfits may be different. AirSprint has been advertising a lot this last year and they seem to offer two weeks on two weeks off or something like that. At air...

Re: Handing in resumes N. Ontario - decent operators to visit?

I might suggest with your experience it may be more efficient and economical to buy porter/encore/jazz flight up to yqt. Pepper all the operators on the field and then possibly grab a Wasaya/bearskin flight up to yxl and hit up all the operators there. Could be all done in a day and head back home l...

Excel Spreadsheet. You can always add details, columns, have it tally any combination of permutations, easy to backup, almost a universal format. That's what I use. Did the Google and found one that automatically keeps track of currency on types, etc... Save it to the cloud and it's accessible wher...

Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?

First thing, lets ignore for a moment what our opinion as pilots is regarding grooming aircraft in between turns. Let’s look at it from the perspective of John Q flying public and ask the average person on the street if they think their pilots clean the aircraft. Most ppl are surprised to learn that...

Since the English proficiency test is gone, shouldn't TC and NavCanada be putting more pressure on the CFIs or schools to ensure students are capable? The language proficiency test isn't gone. The mechanism for getting one is changed as of June 1, but the requirement is still there. However, it's o...

Re: Do the majors even consider a loser with a pardoned DUI?

I believe the question is to the extent of: "Have you been convicted of a crime for which a pardon has not been granted?" It's essentially as if it didn't happen once the pardon goes through. They can't ask, and you don't have to answer. Also, stay out of the USA until the pardon is granted. The Am...
