Re: Cargo TA

The group of posters on this thread are interesting... they (with their extensive backgrounds in labour law, contract negotiating, corporate finances) seem to know more than the people who were actually in the room. Where does all that knowledge come from? Reading and writing on internet forums? Yo...

Anyone who questions the government - "Conspiracist" Well what if, and a big what if, if a government or political think tank is using Covid to push their agendas. What if all the greenies love to see aviation suffering and people hiding in their homes. What if they think this is great for their pol...

Re: Calin is retiring February 2021

His DB was negotiated in 2018 at 750k/year.... good think he’s put away a few millions during his times at AC, life is so expensive these days  I wish him a happy and long retirement. He was an asset to the AC Shareholder. Pilot profession not so much. While I'm sure he "appreciated us" and a...

Re: How to get rid of ACPA?

The results of the third phase survey just came out and it looks like those looking for a change are a small minority. Also, looks like pilot sentiment is to avoid negotiating a new contract so no open period for a raid. The AC forum is clearly a place for the lunatics to feel a sense of belonging....

Re: Air canada axes 30 routes

I miss going to work at AC because the people there are awesome. I have always been impressed with the new hires that come throught to the line and although the selection process isn't perfect and some that should get hired - don't (and vice versa), it seems to generally miss the potholes that linge...

I think it is comical that anyone who has doubts about this crackdown on our society and if it is proportional to what was necessary as being "deniers" or "stupid" Well numbers are easy to interpret I'm in BC and we have had ZERO deaths to anyone under 19. Zero I am not worried about my children in ...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job

Hi, I’ve looked into this as well. I did end up talking to a navy petty officer (recruiter) who said “civilian pilots must go through the same process as their off their street counterparts.” ( with the exception of CEOPT) “ To us, ( The CF) you do not provide a significant advantage over an off th...

Genius move. Force the company to spend finite cash retraining pilots to fly aircraft temporarily until this SS is over. The airlines that bounce back to previous operations the fastest will be the ones that were not forced by intransigent unions to expend their most limited resource on idiotic, wa...

Re: WestJet Group Hiring Freeze

What Westjetters will have to learn is that ONEX is not WJ. ONEX is the conglomerate that owns WJ. ONEX corporate actions are not centred on WJ. However, the cash that WJ burns is now ONEX cash. Hence the aggressive employee layoffs to cut payroll cost while revenues are virtually non-existent. Hav...

Re: #Swoopprez Out!

Correct me if I'm wrong... Low Cost Carriers depend on densification to keep fares down. Who in their right mind wants to be crammed in a plane right now? Prove me wrong but I see air travel being for the wealthy in the short to medium term. We are years away from having this virus to a level where ...

Heard from an MLO that only 70 of the old boys took the early retirement package.....thanks boys Why do some seem to think the “old boys” owe it to others to retire? Most, if not all, have been furloughed during previous downturns, many more than once. They stuck it out and are now at the top of th...

He lost $700k but yes he started with $2.6M. My point is his cheap ass couldn’t enjoy it and now it is gone. He doesn’t seem too worried. He still has lots. My other point is the AC pilot that this retirement package targets has lots of money - already. But time is a resource that is limited no matt...

If I could give a guy who owns a L39, some B1 passes to retire, I would. But surely you can just buy the tickets. 10k is a lot, but not when you have millions.
