Re: Buffalo in YZF
BAQ flew to Red Deer gear down maybe a few months after the accident. I haven't seen any indications that it has flown again. They have been using ex-air alantique planes for freight hauling. Reeve plane for a tanker.

Re: Accidents and PTSD
First of all, thank you all for sharing as well. Second, thank you all very much for your replies. I appreciate it. Reaching out to some people was one of the steps I wanted to take. Why not ask the AVCANADA community, as it relates to us. I am in the process of acquiring some counselling soon and t...

Accidents and PTSD
I've had an aviation accident (yes, the box you checkmark on the TC medical form) and it seems I re-live the events quite often. I have many concerning dreams and occasionally have anxiety that goes above what should be happening while I am still in the pilot seat. The accident outcome was much bett...

Re: Safety and newbies
Are you saying that I should leave, or that someone that is stuck somewhere and doesn't have money to move anywhere else and jobs are pretty scarce just to quit their job and invest another two years of their lives back on the ramp somewhere else? Sometimes a solution to quit is a hard choice to mak...

Re: Safety and newbies
The scenarios that you are talking about, what are they? From what I have learned you can't take cargo only DGs on a flight with passengers. I am fully aware that you can take DGs with passengers. As for the duty time, everyone else was doing the same as I did. I learned from them not to put my odd ...

Re: Safety and newbies
There are two sides to every story. While its all good fun to roast an operator, we have only had one side's perspective on this. .... I have seen newbies start with a company and absolutely refuse to fly because the wind was to strong...10 kts..straight down the runway. And finally after a lot of ...

Re: DC-3 "Crash" Yellowknife
When did piston operators approximately go from using 100/130 fuel to 100LL ? Would I be correct in assuming that a DC-3 would have had better performance with 100/130 fuel? Maybe not huge benefits but better at least? I do not know much about changes in octane in fuel but wondering if 100/130 was b...

Re: Safety and newbies
Left said company I didn't feel safe working for anymore, more than 2 years ago. I saw the pressure I would have had as captain if I had stayed and it wasn't worth it. Flew an airplane he didn't fly for a while and we were able to control safety a bit more. If I was flying in his airplane he questio...

Safety and newbies
Scenario: Your boss of an aviation company doesn't use words to pressure you to do something unsafe. They display neglect and disrespect for safety themselves, as well as showing an aggressive nature when you aren't adhering to the way they do things, because thats the way they used to do it back in...
