Re: Hornet is out as option for Canada's replacement
Finland just selected the F-35 to replace their Hornet fleet, beating out the Super Hornet and Gripen. It’s worth noting that, per their evaluation, “no offer was significantly less expensive than others in operating and sustainment costs” and “the F-35 had the lowest procurement cost when consideri...

Re: Am I still failing to decode GFA?
I think the rationale is that the red scalloped area of clouds is the area that the yellow question mark is highlighting; the green line divides areas of differing forecast visibility and ceiling in the eastern sections near Hudson Bay, but it's still associated with the same region of cloud coverag...

Re: Pfizer Covid Vaccine shows 90% effectiveness.
The CDC brief is by a US government department and cites 45 studies to back up its recommendations. The article you posted above it cites one study, and is written by a privately run libertarian think-tank. I feel it's important to mention that the author's opinion mentioned above was from the FEE.o...

Re: 182 down by Smithers
Fair enough, certainly worth keeping in mind - the caveat is that this was demonstrated with a healthy engine at idle power. If I'm not mistaken, most governor mechanisms for piston singles (with non-feathering propellers) require oil pressure to maintain that high pitch and reduced drag. If your da...

Re: 182 down by Smithers
Something I feel is worth mentioning - it very much depends on what kind of propeller you have on your airplane. Most piston singles don't roll out with a feathering propeller. http://www.sq44.cawgcap.org/uploads/ngrey/pdf/C182R_POH_Excerpts.pdf Page 2-5 shows the high and low ranges of motion in a ...

Doesn’t list float rating (or any other rating) - as long as they have an AOC with the training airplane on it, you’re good to go.recreational, a private pilot licence, a commercial pilot licence or a flight instructor rating
