Re: New Flt Crew Regs
Or perhaps the small 703 company has no bond and said pilot said he'd stay for 2 years on a handshake and now 1 year in he is trying to leave... A job is a job not a charity, if you have better prospects you should take them. Would that same business continue to employ you based on that handshake i...

Re: New Flt Crew Regs
isn't separate businesses colluding against potential employees illegal? That sounds greasy AF.someone gives them a call asking to slow down some hirings, I guess it may have some impact, for sure if you are waiting for a job in some seniority based airline, it could make the difference big time

Yup, he'll be going to trial for both of the other two murders in 2017 and 2018.PilotDAR wrote:
Indeed! Does Millard still face prosecution for this too? Being in jail for one crime does not insulate you from prosecution for another - correct?

It's a good thing that AC makes their potential employees jump through these hoops otherwise their planes would be falling out of the sky like WestJet's.

Why would they bother with the expense if it was just a Cat 1? Just do a drug test and be done with it.leftoftrack wrote:They use to until loosing a human rights tribunal. Now its a Cat 1 medical.

Re: Sault College for Aviation?
does Jazz or Air Georgian still hire the top graduates from the program? I believe some years the top one or two students out of like 40 that graduate get the opportunity to have an interview with Jazz, it's no guarantee of employment and even if you do pass the interview you're not directly hired ...

The Turks first reported that they had lost a Super Cobra helicopter due to technical failure, then this video was released. http://defence-blog.com/news/kurdish-pkk-shoot-down-bell-ah-1-cobra-of-turkish-army-aviation.html It's amazing how little noise this made in the news. Re: Choosing a flight school in the Vancouver area - BCIT vs
I guess there could be better networking in a college program but it's no guarantee. And even if it were would it be worth the extra $10-15 grand on top of flying costs, and the extra 6-12 months of study? If you didn't have a degree already I'd say go for the diploma but from my understanding (some...

Re: Choosing a flight school in the Vancouver area - BCIT vs
If you already have a BSc I'd say skip the diploma and go straight to flight training, that's already going to be expensive enough. I doubt a diploma on top of a degree will give you much of an advantage in getting hired.

Nothing but books and work all summer? Where's the fun in that 8)? I hear what you're saying though, I'm only thinking about getting 4-5 hours of flight time to somewhat soften the blow of everything being thrown at you at once in college, and then put the rest of my effort this summer into the book...

Thanks for the reply. I'll order From The Ground Up today. I've got a good chunk of change saved up from work, I should be able to get through without debt. It seems to be a theme from what I've read of people partying their way to failure in these programs, I'm a little older than the kids coming s...

Getting some experience before college in September
So I'm sitting here on the waitlists for Con college and Sault (I would have had a spot at both but applied late like a fool), I've been told I have a good chance to get into Sault (#5 on the waitlist) not as good a chance for Con (somewhere between #15-20). I'm essentially starting from nothing whe...
