Re: Getting Ahead of Possible Cat 1 Suspension
Unfortunately in my experience, CAME's only really compile reports and submit them to TC. They won't send you for imaging or specialists themselves, they may suggest some stuff but you will have to do it through your GP anyways. You mentioned you are applying for AC. Are you a member of an ALPA carr...

Re: Flight dispatcher at AC ?
I'm looking to consider taking an offer with AC as a dispatcher but I really wanted some insight on the profession. Does anybody who is currently working with them have information that they can share? I wanted to get first hand information from someone who is or has already worked for AC as a disp...

787 FO out of ground school? Does 787 FO in this scenario get scooped up first? 787 FO is arguably the worse position out of GS. Shit seniority Shit schedule Pays the same as an RP position which has better seniority/schedule. The insufferable shame of being the lowest paid WB FO worldwide. I under...

Re: New CA Expectation
1500 pilots don't get hired at Delta. But 1500hr pilots are being hired at AC. Meanwhile at AC we were kicked in the nuts by our own inept leaders (now in management) with TA1, making our post-bankruptcy contract even worse, and then for some reason we locked it all in and then some with a 10 year ...

Stay away from Casablanca. Save your money. Hated going there every time for OVN…would rather have gone to YMM tbh. I would second Casablanca. If you are interested in seeing a deferent culture etc. Morocco would be a bigger difference than Barcelona. But if you were to go, I would fly into Casabla...

Well, considering I make about four times that plus a enviable pension by most standards, I’m doing just fine. It also seems the amount of pilots willing to work for that are not showing up, so maybe there is hope that the wages will go up but as far as you’re concerned, you are still a fucken moro...

Re: Contrasting views on doing VO.
I respectfully disagree. It is not our problem to pick up VO if the company dragged its feet on starting recalls. I want the company to succeed as much as you do, but not at the expense of leaving pilots on the street, and not at the expense of losing more WAWCON. They could have started recalls ear...

Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Good day everubody. Will hiring captain be on the Flair's agenda soon or later..or is it something we can forget about it. Thks. It's unlikely we will hire DEC's again although there is a slight possibility of a very limited number next year depending on how many of our FO's decline the upgrade to ...

Re: Take the vaccine, or lose your job - WTF?
OK so where we sit today; AC, WS, and Jazz have all said you have to be double vaxxed by the end of october or you can't come to work? Is the wording that you have to be fully immunized (ie second dose plus 2 weeks)? And you have to wait 4 weeks after 1st dose to receive the second? As far as I'm a...

For Vancouver wait times seem to be about a month or just over to write exams. If you need an inspector for a Flight Instructor ride, the wait time is currently 1.5 months pushing 2 months.

Re: What will happen to our industry?
I recently saw an article predicting that 75% of our population will be vaccinated (1 shot) and 20% both shots by the end of June or July, so it seems mid-end of summer things may pick up. This 75% and 20% stat is where a large drop off in covid cases occur and we may be able to open the border. Th...

Re: Upfront payment/pay as you go- Coastal Pacific Flight School
Don't know if that information is accurate. I haven't heard of a $5000 dollar min requirement. They do have a $1000 on account policy in order to fly. I believe that is only to protect them from someone coming back from a flight and not paying. You can get that money back at any time, and I've never...

Did the pilots agree to the change or was it just decided for them? tl:dr - Decided for them! As mentioned, Porter Pilots aren't unionized, however they do have a Flight Operations Administrative Guide (FOAG). It's a 'terms and conditions' that governs how they do do scheduling, including policies ...

Re: Need guidance for Instructor Rating in Canada
There are also a fair amount of flight schools who don't want 705 guys who are just gotta bolt the second recalls start, even if there past students. No knock against those guys thats just the reality. So the idea that new instructors won't get jobs is false in my opinion. The way I see it, I'm rea...

Re: Need guidance for Instructor Rating in Canada
I can't answer all of your question. However I can speak to a few points. If you have a valid Instructor Rating in general its gold anywhere in Canada, especially in Ontario from what I hear. You should be able to get a job the second you pass the flt test. Is that still the case? Even for class 4?...

Was this map pulled from social media by chance? At a glance, looks like Norway House, Nakina and La Grande are among our hotspots. I actually couldn’t find on a chart any evidence of human habitation close to where that red spot in Quebec is located. Must be a secret government site, visible only ...

Yup, the southern states have done an amazing job of managing and treating the virus. Time to learn how to live with Covid instead of the fools game of trying to eradicate it. Can you point to any medical or government source stating an intent, or even a faint hope of “eradicating” Covid 19? It’s c...

Re: Flight training with masks?
Airlines do not require crew to wear masks on the flight deck. Don’t know why they need to be worn during training. I would be looking for a like-minded instructor who would remove their mask when out of sight of the panicky public. I think one of the differences there is they need to be able to qu...

I'm not biased at all, but Langley Flying School just put out a post about an Instructor Rating Course starting July 13th... Stay away from Sault Aviation. You only have to read the more then a few post here, and on other sites as to just how badly the program has become. Hey, for all you students with the issues trying to get flights in: What was the issue? Was it too many students, not enough planes? Not enough instructors? Were the planes out for maintenance? Was it consistently bad weather when you were scheduled to fly (if that was the case - were you reschedule...

You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.
