Re: Buttonville Gets The Final Nail In The Coffin
I doubt ykz was a huge economic driver, even then the people living nearby deal will all the downsides with no more benefits than anyone living further away Replace YKZ with YTZ and the opposite is true. If my grandma had wheels she'd be a bicycle, of fucking course an airport with international + ...

Re: Buttonville Gets The Final Nail In The Coffin
TBF unless you're a GA pilot the airport provides no benefit to you but lots of drawbacks (noise, pollution etc) Airports are an economic driver my friend. They create jobs and bring talent and product into their communities. The NIMBYS only care about themselves and are short sighted at best. I do...

Re: Russian Antonov-124
The thread drift light is on solid for this one.
Anyway, I wonder if the owners of the -124 will just write it off as a loss once the bills get too high. Then it can be sold off to the highest bidder.

Why did you start three separate threads about the exact same rant ref. KF Aerospace but with FOUR different subject lines? What's with all the trolling?
Edited...I thought there were three troll threads..there's four.

Re: AIM RAC 4.5.2
[... A shame that the aerodrome part is almost empty though. Would have been nice to have the CFS data in there. That is the plan apparently. The CFS, CAP and Enroute Charts are all actually part of the AIP as it states on the cover page of those products. I believe eventually the AIP will be a one...

Re: ATF vs. MF for UNICOM?
Are the MF's not listed in the CFS, canadian flight supplement, Yes, but that wasn't my question. When i saw a bunch of MF's at airports with UNICOM in the CFS that's when I started wondering why they weren't ATFs. I think the response you're looking for is "thank you". Well no actually. The point ...

ATF vs. MF for UNICOM?
I was under the impression that UNICOM at an uncontrolled airport was always an ATF. Does anyone know (non-anecdotally) what the criteria is for a UNICOM to be an MF?

Re: AMA vs MEF
AMA shows minimum obstacle or terrain clearance of 1000 feet (2000 feet in mountainous areas) and the MEF shows the lowest possible VFR flight in a quadrant (about 500 feet above obstacles or terrain)

Not that it matters as your question is about the airport but that looks like one of their 737-400s to me. The engine appears larger than a -200 and is mostly ahead of the wing.

Re: Ottawa TCA ring size?
Is there a reason the class C ring is not labelled with a distance from CYOW? YYZ’s is clearly marked as 26nm. The mode C ring for CYOW is labelled at 45nm but the more important Class C TCA distance is left to my ruler technique? Probably because it's not as simple as a ring. Look at the VTA and y...

Re: Definite Stall/Spin Accident
I find it disturbing the person who took the video just stands there filming after the crash instead of rushing to help. If you watch the video prior to the camera person zooming in, you can see that the accident takes place quite a distance from where they are filming from on the ramp. Also, emplo...

Re: AIP Canada
The old TC AIP was a pain. 4 times a year we would get the ridiculously thin small pages that we had to add and of course all of us would get behind doing the amendments. The NAV version of the AIP is a lot better and way more user friendly since the entire thins is online . However, the more useful...

Re: AIP Canada
Due to the fact that it was not ICAO compliant, the old Transport Canada issued AIP (TP 2300E) needed to replaced. In 2005, two separate documents were created as a result. These were the AIM, which remained under the authority of Transport Canada, and the ICAO compliant version of the AIP, which fa...
