Re: Cannabis for COVID-19

I can see your point. However, with a pandemic, aviation being an essential service ( how long have strikes lasted historically before the GOV’T steps in?) is that a viable option? Or could this be the time for TC comes out of it’s black and white thinking? I don’t know ... it’s certainly interesti...

Re: Flight school delays - Covid19

A bit surprised after doing some reading that the BC government isn't explicitly prohibiting flight schools from operating... Alberta laid down the law and prohibited training, and as far as I'm aware the flight schools have all followed their guidance (generally) and suspended operations except for...

Re: Quality of Multi-IFR Training

Small, multi engined planes used to take about 5-7 hrs including the ride. Then TC wanted to see 10 hrs. Now you are getting quoted 15-20 hours for a multi? That is absolutely ridiculous. 20 hours total multi time for both ratings including the two rides . And 20 hours on a sim. The sim is a big pa...

Re: Corona Virus

Omg, pick a conspiracy and stick with it! Are the Chinese covering up millions of deaths or did they engineer this virus as a weapon. Did the Spaniards bio engineer the Spanish flu? Or was that the Portuguese? Either they are evil geniuses or complete morons. You can't have it both ways. Try to fin...

Re: Flight school delays - Covid19

I think everyone should shift their focus a bit more long-term. For sure once people start flying again after the lockdowns and social distancing relax a bit things hiring will start to turn around and there'll still be factors like attrition at play, but I think the past few years of quick upgrades...

The whole virus scare looks like it's just pooped the bubble, do the people here suggest anyone about to start or who doesn't have much invested should quit due to the bleak future?

@7ECA I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Zerohedge - they frequently cover stories you won't read in the Mainstream Media. This is a very serious situation imho. Respectfully, Zerohedge is a pile of steaming trash that has a long and well-documented history of publishing outright falsehoods and clic...

Re: Corona Virus

The current mortality rate is based on known cases, and there is much discussion that the true number of cases is MUCH greater than the confirmed cases, because the confirmed cases result from severe symptoms leading those individuals to seek medical attention (tip of the iceberg), possibly by a fac...

Apply and see. Maybe even mention in your cover letter that you're willing to continue building PIC hours on your own time. Regionals are low on pilots, and 1500 hours of which a bunch are multi, I assume, is a solid number. People are being hired with half of that. You so far out of reality you mu...

Have a decent understanding of the Cap Gen, especially the first 38 or so pages (Takeoff minima, Spec Vis, RVO/LVO, alternate minima, approach bans, etc). Expect a few questions on information contained on a LO chart. For the sim itself, typically most examiners are fine with autopilot use (as menti...
