Re: Float Ops Still Hiring for the Season?
You have decent time for a starting point. Check out Wings Over Kississing. They have bases in Flin Flon, Thompson, and Stony Rapids. And other bases over Northern Manitoba & Saskatchewan. It’s a very well run 703 operation, with lots of float aircraft. Probably just as many on the “landlubber “ sid...

Re: Fuel used per hour
As a general rule of thumb. You can expect 1gallon per hour/ 20 hp. So if your C-180 produces 230 hp, you can expect and flight plan for 11.5 gph. Likewise, if you operate a C-185/206 at 300 hp, your looking at 15 gph.
Hope this is helpful. ( 1 gallon/ 20 hp/ hr.)

Re: Is it possible to get hired with Restricted Medical "with or as co-pilot" category 1?
It’s a good question. We hired an individual with the same restrictions you mentioned about 5-6 years ago. It was easy for us, as they had the qualifications required. All of our flights where conducted in a 2 crew environment, so it wasn’t much of a restriction. (703-704 operation)
I hope that helps.

It’s a great idea. I did just that at a sports show in Calgary. That was in 1980, I got a job for my efforts.

Re: Manitoba Medevac
Back in the day... ( 20 years, to be exact) there was one company in northern Manitoba that did not have the rolling duty day( or whatever you call it). The aircraft where staffed 24/7 with two crews. You did not duty out away from base. If need be, you called in a crew early, but you did not duty o...
