Aztec E

Hello all. I might have the chance to get some extra multi time in an Aztec (1970ish I think, which should make it an E) while I am laid off here. Does anyone have a copy of some documents such as the POH/Checklist/SOPs/etc for one of these? I'm just curious about it more than anything and haven't f...

Re: New Bottom Feeder's

When most, if not all in the aviation sector, are both future and financially fuct, you’re the one who decides who’s a “bottom feeder”??? Shouldn’t we, individually, in our own specific circumstances, decide what’s best for us and our families? Maybe more considerate thought is a wiser investment t...

Looking for a place in Sioux Lookout

Good morning aviators. I will be moving to Sioux Lookout for a new flying job, but will need to find a place to live shortly after arriving. I am mature, stable, non smoker, not a drinker, no pets or children. Self contained studio or 1 bedroom suite, apartment or cabin. If you know of something I w...

Re: Hanging up the headset... anyone done it ? Anyone thinking of it?

So yeah, I kinda have had to step out at least temporarily. I have been laid off from my skydive job since last season. During the winter I finished my Group 1 and IATRA with 800+ TT, tonnes of PIC and 2 flying jobs under my belt. Lots of referrals and references while expecting calls for interviews...

Just noticed the posting for a 206 pilot. Does anyone have updated info? Schedule, pay, if any crew housing is provided if your operating out of Deas Lake or something? Stuff like that.

I was caught in a precarious position when the crap hit the fan. I have regional hours, finished my Group 1 and IATRA in February. Had recommends and referrals at several places for MediVac, PasCo and a couple others. Sent out apps, had some positive feed back, annnnnnnnnd. COVID! And then mom got c...

Re: Grab a seat. The music is stopping

I have to admit i've been feeling pretty low over the last year or so watching all my friends and colleagues move on to their "dream" companies while my behind stayed firmly planted in a left 703 medevac seat. It wasn't a matter of not having the opportunity...it's certainly been there. T...

Re: Grab a seat. The music is stopping

This whole thing has me spinning myself. Two low time jobs in, pipes and skydiving with a little more than 800 hours. Finished my IATRA and Group one a month ago, then proceeded to fire out resumes to all the places I have wanted to work long time. Even told the skydive job I'd bow out and let them...

Keeping busy

Howdy all. Just wanted to ask for a little help as googling isn't being too fruitful. I just finished getting the requirements I need to apply to places like Pasco and Encore. And I did last night so now I wait. In the mean time I thought I'd try and find some pre study material for the A/C these gu...

FltPlan for IFR

Howdy all. So I am nearing the end of my IFR training, and my year of Foreflight. I intend to work for a living in aviation so I do not intend to continue my FF subscription for personal use. In fact there is only really one reason I don't now. I, like a lot of people, prefer android. Let's not get ...

Re: Should I do CPL just for the skills if I only want to fly privately?

....ferry flying a friend's plane for free is not allowed. Incorrect. If you're doing it for free, you're not getting paid. Airframe, not to start an argument. But as I interpret CAR 401.26(1) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-96-433/page-46.html#docCont) logging hours at no cost...

Re: Should I do CPL just for the skills if I only want to fly privately?

. If you do your CPL in the 182 You will need at least one other airplane beside a C182 because it is not approved for intentional spins - a compulsory exercise for the CPL flight test. You can split your flight test between two different airplanes, but then you will have to be competent with all m...

Re: Should I do CPL just for the skills if I only want to fly privately?

If you don't need the CPL, go for the night and IFR first. Fly a bunch of IFR along side normal manoeuvrs to build time and experience where it will count. Once your close to your 200, then do the CPL. The only reason I'd go for the CPL first if I was in your shoes would be if I wanted to part time ...

See posting at the Skylink Express forum for interview questions on technical IFR questions you can expect.... Thanks! I found it not long after the last post on here. I just finished the IATRA and will be done the group 1 by the end of the month, weather permitting. I'll be talking to the intervie...

Re: IATRA exam 2019

I passed, not with a mark I would have preferred but good with the time to cram I had with no review of INRAT or CPL notes. The questions on here are pretty close, here are some in no specific order. How to be an effective captain. Know your V speeds. Specific Range and Critical Point calculations. ...

Re: IATRA exam 2019

Has anyone used Nizus recently? How are the practice questions compared to the exam? I'm writing in about an hour as I need to get it done and I am close to where I would like to be. I do feel a little rushed due to outside forces, but I covered about 85% of the Harv's material with high 80s on the...

Re: IATRA exam 2019

How is the Harvs air Course for IATRA? A lot of redundancy from the CPL days, but there is great info on there and sometimes Aaron's explanations make a difference. Because I am trying to get done as efficiently as possible; I am going through each topic quiz and anything I get 80% I go over the pr...

Re: CPL Written Exam

Not recently (2016). But harvs air (pilot training.ca) is great. Look at the study guide as well. Read the air command weather manual and Aim cover to cover. I found there were some holes in the harvs air stuff (especially if you only read the slides) that you should reinforce with the official sour...
