Re: Bid 2019

Q400 reduced because ROUGE taking a bunch of their routes, the DH8300 from YVR are moving to YYZ. Total DH8 base closure in YVR. I bet this is going to make a lot of people really happy. So they'll have the Q go into Castlegar, Cranbrook, Nanaimo and all the old DH8 routes? Is there even a d...

Re: Bid 2019

How many pilots coming from Georgian? Maximum on their roster eligible to join Jazz is 226. Of that how many go to AC directly, or choose not to join Jazz and stay at GGN or go elsewhere.....who knows. I'm gonna guess that about 200GGN pilots come to Jazz (roughly). 300+ more pilots, but massive re...

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

Dont worry man, Hans is just one of those people who is miserable about absolutely everything. True. (everything aviation related) He also cant quite seem to let go of a company he swears up and down he hates. Get on with your life. False. I don't hate Jazz. I never did. If I were 22, living in my ...

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

Really sticking to your guns hey? Are you trying to make enemies with everyone on this site? Seems like you’re a regular poster who knows better than any pilot or manager out there. You’re sure opinionated! Nah, not really. I'm not trying to make enemies. I'm just a little rough around the edges. I...

Re: Jazz skid off taxiway in Bagotville, QC

Not good. It seems to be a norm, for small Canadian airports to have runways in good order, but their ramp is an ice rink. I've seen many, from Bagotville to Timmins, and many others.

1. Why is that?
2. Why do pilots accept operating in such environment?

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

Only experienced arrogant pieces of sh*t need apply then? If I'd have it my way, and worked for Jazz HR, every resume with "Instructor Time" only would automatically go to the garbage; not even the shredder. It's not worth the electricity wasted. Seneca graduates are miles ahead of these individual...

Re: Cancelled flights.

As I read this thread in YVR Waiting for my third cancelled WJ flight. Get this the guest services CSR just told me the Encore cancelled portion was due to it being a PROPELLER PLANE and it can’t fly in the snow. Most of us on Avcanada should be dead by now,who would have thought. Lol. Wow! Just wow

I've never met anyone that worked at Transat and didn't like it. Every pilot I've spoken with loves that place.

Re: Canada faces severe shortage of pilots and aircraft workers - Ottawa Citizen

Gotta love these headlines. What's next? "Liberals are doing a great job"? One of the biggest disappointments in life, is realizing that our news "reporters" and stories are no longer about neutral fact reporting, but selling ads. Anything to get that "click". Sensationalist bullsh*t. Being a journa...

Re: Wil Jazz hire with instructing time only?

I would still prefer having a guy that flew in the north for only 100 hours than having a 1500 hr instructor... Oh come on. 100 hrs? That's not even enough to learn the aircraft. I do agree with you, from a flying experience point of view, instructors bring very little value to a two crew, IFR, hig...

In the unlikely event TS or SW go bankrupt; one wouldn’t have any problem finding another job. With type ratings and experience on the A330/A320/B737 we all receive offers from various recruitment agencies or airlines every day : your security is not who your employer is but what you have on your C...

Re: Jazz Pilot Pool

Does anyone know of the current situation with hiring at Jazz or any regional? I’m a TC CPL ME/IR + IATRA holder with NO flying experience in Canada and about 1700 hrs TT, 1000 ATR turboprop + 500 on the E190. Any chance any regional would consider me? Any help pointing me in the right direction wi...

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

My first year pay as an FO is as follows. Gross $44,550 Per Diems $14,380 Total: $58,930 I only worked 5 WDO's (overtime days) the whole year. Per Diems are tax free cash. As you can tell the per diems add a big chunk to the low base pay. I posted this not for a debate but to show anyone interested...

Re: 17 year TA?

Jazz pilots were not willing to risk it and voted something that was mediocre at best. It's similar to those guys that marry the fat girl. Sure, she's not the best, but she'll be a sure bet and will stick around. Jazz goes to such lengths to be a company that stands against discrimination....I am r...

I'm a year two Captain and take home more than a year two WJ Captain. Sure they have their big stock match but have you seen the direction the stock has been going? I'll take my ESOP and DC pension. And more money in my pocket. As a former jazz captain you must be one heck of an overtime whore and ...

Too bad you didn’t stick around Hans. You would have been better off in the long run. Maybe. I also regret not buying a house in Toronto when I first moved to Canada. I would have been $500K richer. I also regret not asking my classmate Helga to the high-school dance 20 years ago. She may have put ...

Re: TA Passed.

Quick math shows that if you factor that approx 955 pilots voted yes that's around 66% of the whole list. So still a majority, no one will be able to say that a minority of people made the decision. I'd say the people that didn't vote were probably the ones close to retirement that would not be aff...

Holly sh*t... 92%? That is impressive. Trying to get pilots to vote is like chasing cows down the hills of Heidkopf. (It's not easy). I too am impressed, in the sense of the voter turnout.

I am a bit surprised it wasn’t closer. Great news indeed! People will vote for something that doesn't scare them... The unknown frightens the sh*t out of ...
