Re: Flight School
I've heard of a flight school in alberta that's done exactly that. They kicked out the only canadian student at the time in order to maximize capacity for their lucrative foreign students So that would be a flight school in Alberta? and you're mentioning a Canadian student? That's a strong allegati...

Re: Flight School
What? It's a valid question. I got buddies who aren't getting in to programs just to get shafted by internationals. What ever happened to helping our own first ? I think it's ok for schools to prefer first come first serve, BUT the whole letting anyone in the world work for Air Canada or Westjet wi...

Re: B1900 or flight instruction?
What makes you think you can automatically fly a 1900 after getting your ratings? Unless you somehow have a guranteed opportunity then that option sounds like a gamble (you got a family to think of..). Instructing however is much more viable in terms of finding employment and sounds like ur family ...

Re: okotoks flight school
By your posts it sounds like this is you first job and you arent from the yyc area so how could you possibly draw that conclusion? Don't need to be from the area to come up with that conclusion. the surrounding schools seem okay but okotoks is just fundamentally different and provides an offer that...

Re: Does it matter where I get my Instructor's rating from?
I did mine at Windsor flying club (ontario) and would suggest it if you are looking for 1 on 1 training rather than a course. It's also cheaper than most other schools...

Winter road trip?
Hello. Now i know this is probably the 20th thread you've seen on road trips but id like to get some specific information on timing. I have a brief window of opportunity to head out on a trip right now and visit operators from Ontario and stretching out to vancouver and NWT in search of my first job...

Email vs in person
So i'm looking for my first flying job and have been trying my best to spread my seed far and wide but focusing on operators close to home. Today I find an add for a charter at pearson (just a 20 minute drive) with no hours requirement so it's a no brainer. I thought it would be best to head over th...

It's still incompetence from their national regulators. Weather it be security or regulations on a pilot's workload. They need to step up as an industrycomplexintentions wrote:I'm pretty sure it's not related to the fatigue issues at Flydubai and Emirates lol.

Re: Pilot-In-Waiting
If you absolutely can not find a flying job after looking extensively for one, go for it. But I don't see why people go to a ramp job as a first choice. I turned down 3 ramp positions while on my road trip, because I had a set time in mind that I would be on the road looking for a flying job. It en...

And what do you guys see as the alternative? I'm one of those "fools" who's applied to some of those jobs and am seriously considering it to kick off my career. Your post shows literally no contribution and is just plain negative. Why don't you show us the vast job offers available for us 200hr wond...
