Re: How old is too old?
I know a guy who started flying commercially for a 705 at 58. I don't think age is a factor right now.

I’m sure the pilots already told their MEC what’s important to achieve in this negotiation.

Re: Kelowna Flight Craft
Just for your resume, Flightcraft is one word. It's a charter company that's just starting out. Word is they are busy, but untill they nail down a contract or two I'd be weary of moving there myself. As for the Convair question, the pay scale is listed in the CBA. Not sure if it works for you, but ...

You shouldn’t have trouble to be hired as an instructor once your training is completed. With 100k and if your wife work money won’t be a problem.
When are you coming here ? (I live in Winnipeg).

For some it won’t. A friend just applied to Jazz and it’s written to not put centerline thrust as multi time.

We actually don't have the propeller control on the left side. And the panel of the Grobs used in Portage have modern avionics now with redesigned glareshield to get rid of the blind spot.

Re: What jet to buy ? (6-8 passengers jet). Exploitation costs ?
Hi there, If you were looking to buy a jet with room for 6-8 passengers, which model would you buy ? What king of annual costs are to be expected ? Budget around a million CAD to buy the aircraft. Thanks Maybe a used up lear 35, a battered citation 560 or a falcon 20 that needs a ton of work. Avera...

Re: Career as a Flight Instructor
Hi Jockey, I am a flight instructor for KF Aerospace, we have a contract with the governement to train the RCAF students out of CYPG. We fly the Grob120A, pretty nice little aircraft. When you start you are trained to be a TC aerobatic instructor and you undergo a training to be ''requalified'' to t...

Re: Air force training syllabus
How much solo time is involved in PFT? How many hours dual instruction is the target before a first solo flight? When they go solo (2 circuits, 0.3 air time) they ideally flew 12.4 hours (air time) and received 5.9 hours of training in the simulator (which is mostly use for emergency handling). The...

Re: Lakeside Flight School
You missed that they apparently use a "Piper Stinson" for float training. Or maybe its a 172? Why do schools always have the page that shows important things about their fleet, like MTOW, Cruising speed (helpfully here in both Knots and Kmph) and what brand of engine it has, yet make you search els...

Hi guys ! I have a question, I’m a Canadian flight instructor, and I’m going to do a fly trip in the US next month, with one of my student. It’s mostly time building towards his CPL, but can we log instrument time (or even dual) while flying there ? As long as we’re flying with a Canadian plane it’...

Re: Heads up - I know this has been a classic, however, a refresher nonetheless
I’m studying at the PFC. For the BCIT getting priority over « standard » students, it’s something I’ve never experienced myself. For exemple when my instructor felt I was ready for the preflight test, I passed it 5 days after. The day in question, we were running out of time after the ground portion...
