Re: Looking for Flight training school near Toronto Area
No schools offer ATPLs, the closest thing would be one of those college/university programs that have you write SARON/SAMRA at 250 hours, even then you’re still a CPL that can fly 2 crew aircrafts.

Re: IFR training - Which school in Vancouver?
When i spoke to students at Langley a little over a year ago, they said their Seneca is always in maintenance so i chose another school. You might want to visit the schools and talk to current students to get an idea of how things are

Re: What is a better way to get your licenses?
If you're thinking of going to Seneca, the way I look at it is this: Assume 3 individuals both starting in 2020. Person A will be done Seneca in 2024, let's say he did well and get straight to jazz with 250 hours. Person B will be done some sort of diploma program (say BCIT) in 2022. Person C will b...

Re: Pipeline Patrol in Alberta?
I've never done pipeline jobs so these info are from talking to a few pipeline people i met during my last job: You start out as an observer, so you don't get to log hours for a while. The Edmonton company if i remembered correctly have you sit observer for a few months before start logging time. Th...

They’re both pretty useless compared to aerocourse...
Dauntless app asks a bunch of questions that aren’t on the INRAT, harvs has way too much “nice to know” aka useless stuff for SAMRA/SARON
If you don’t want to pay for the actual course at least get the workbooks

Re: Logging Pilot In Command Under Supervision Time
Fire patrol and pipeline aren't going to low time pilots anymore. People frown on paying for type ratings so why would renting be different. If you can find a school with the availability to let you head out on an extended trip with a plane. Times have changed considerably. I don’t know about fire ...

Didn't bother watching the videos just went through the slides, if you really don’t understand something then maybe watch the video or just google it, saved me a lot of time.

Re: Full Time Ground School?
You can totally do that with Harv's... at least thats what I did for my CPL ground school.
Just read the slides don't bother with the videos, it took me 12 days from 0 to 92% on CPL written, all Harv's slides

Re: Looking for a flying program Vancouver
I’m now leaning towards Coastal Pacific’s integrated program or BCIT’s 64 week diploma course. Anyone familiar with these? Any advantage in taking the diploma course? While I think BCIT’s Program is not bad, they don’t get you into PASCO after completion at 200 hrs The way it works is you have to w...

Re: CPAER Study Tips
People actually go through all of Harvs videos?
I bought their ground school, never watched a single video, just went through their slides and quizzes, did each of their practice exams like 3 times, got a 92% on CPAER
I wrote CPAER 6 years after my PPAER so I basically started from scratch.
