Re: Don't be a scab
How long until the government legislates pilots back to work? Forced arbitration? I heard estimates as short as 5 days. But that's based on here say. Anyone have experience or remember what's happened in the past?
Re: CANPASS
Right. We're spoiled. Get that first call in a day ahead, get you ArriveCans done and usually its only a few minutes wait.

Re: Days off given while on the road
If we have to take days off on the road because of CARS requirements, they are hard days off. No calls, no work, drink all you want. We are then given the days back as lieu days to be booked off on the schedule. Fair deal I think.

Re: Vaccine outside of Canada
Just take your vaccination card to the public health unit. The nurse will enter the info into your vaccination record right there. Takes 5 minutes. No need to see or talk to a doctor.

Been in the hiring pool since November. Was told in the new year that classes have been pushed until summer. Heard nothing since.

Re: RAIC Pass
You have to be able to obtain and hold a RAIC to work as a pilot at any Canadian airline that operates out of an airport that requires a RAIC. Which is pretty much all of them. For new hires that still have their RAIC in process there is a temporary yellow RAIC that they use that requires that they ...

Re: Random Q400 tips
I always found it intercepted localizers and tracks very well if you keep the brick centered, which you must do on this aircraft since it’s so sensitive to yaw. Without fail, every person I flew with who complained of a shitty intercept as it was happening still had their feet on the floor. ...

Ornge is paying their new FOs more than Jazz on a PC12.

Re: Bargaining idea
I'm all for hearing ideas about how we can get a more livable wage for FOs between now and 2025. The FO position at Jazz is a good job, that's why I signed up for it, but the pay is embarrassing. A wage of $3100 a month to fly for an airline is not enough for the task and responsibility you are give...

Re: Bose QC25 ANC headset
Its a great set up. I had to wait 12 weeks because they were back ordered but they're worth the wait. It looks like the QC 25s are going pretty cheap these days too.

Re: Application removal
I'm looking to withdraw my application in order to re-apply. I'm afraid that if I withdraw, I will not be allowed to apply again to the same posting by the system. Anyone attempted this successfully?

I've done the video interview. Standard pre screen type questions with some situational stuff about your experience. I'm not bilingual.

Closing date in the posting was Dec 31 2016 but I was still able to submit an application after that date through the portal. The automated email I received said it was accepted and under review.

I'm in the same boat. In your opinion, based on how things are going now, if one was based in YVR to start, how long would it take before you could bid over to YYC?
