Re: Any US Visa success stories?
:smt014 Hi I did the video seminar with them and they will get you employment but the cheapest they come is at $26k plus plus... you gota get an FAA ATP on your own and such. You will have to committ to cape, amerijet or the other one for a year and then you are free to go anywhere. Sounds fair but...

Denying Overtime
So now that the company is whining about it, it seems to have some sort of effect. Denying voluntary overtime is NOT illegal as far as I understand. I guess the union had to say something but maybe they could have made it clearer that denying overtime still keeps us within the confines of our contra...

Re: Air Canada Pilots Pull Out
25% is fuckall im sorry... we can do alot better. Especially at the bottom end. The company can easily afford to pay every captain 50% more today everyday. They just dont. And they love the fact that most pilots are beaten into thinking that they cant. Now at the bottom end of the pay scale... dont...

Re: Air Canada Pilots Pull Out
Who has the most to gain from an ‘industry’ contract? A newbie. A 25% pay uplift is worth way more over a 30 year career than a 10 year (remaining) career. Educate. 25% is fuckall im sorry... we can do alot better. Especially at the bottom end. The company can easily afford to pay every captain 50%...

Re: Toronto base wins the PRIZE!
 Agreed with the need to eat but keep in mind ya'll, 58k is not hard at all to make up outside of flying. I personally do other stuff on the side which I absolutely do not like (not working the corner-yet...), to make ends meet and will not take any overtime from the company. It's a principle. ...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
Anyone on here successfully got the EB-3 employer sponsored visa through a US employer or employment agency? I looked into it and apparently there is an employment agency (OMS) in Florida that offers this service with Cape Air and Amerijet. It costs quite a bit but leads to a green card if successf...

Re: Backpain
I also just switched to the 737 and noticedback pai starting. I do not use the lumbar support and it helped. Also my physio gave me a tip to keep the arm rests up and it will unconciously force you to sit i the centre and not lean to one side (I also have neck pain) which has really helped. But yes ...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
Exactly, from what I understand the big part of the application is finding the right evidence and portraying it in a way to prove that you are of national importance. I am not sure if I would know how to frame it because apparently using the pilot shortage card is not enough to get the visa approve...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
I was actually going to give it a shot although I think if I try myself there are probably lower odds of success. There shouldn't be. Who cares more about your future: you or a lawyer? I imagine there are quite a few people online that share their experiences. I never did the US thing, but I see a ...

Re: Any US Visa success stories?
I literally had my interview at the US embassy yesterday. If you look at my post history, you can see I have been on this for about a year now. I tried the Frontier route first, but they couldn't make visa work. Finally I know have it. (and a job on a wide body in US) But yeah.. I have 5 figure log...

Any US Visa success stories?
Hawdy ya'll Just wondering if anyone has successfully done a US visa application? Which route did they take to acquiring it? We are hearing lots about the NIW visa but haven't really heard of success stories- maybe a couple of people being either sponsored or have 1837493728464 hours in their logboo...

I would like to remind my fellow peers that you are in as good a position to negotiate for better terms as ever. We in Canada have become the rock bottom of the industry when it comes to compensation. When the AC directors and board decide to eliminate one carrier’s contract and give the fleet to ch...

Re: Jazz Reqiurements?
I've just been offered a position at Jazz and when I got the initial call, I had about 1400 hours. by the time GS starts im over 1500. that includes over 1100 single engine piston. the rest is a mixture of turbo prop and jet. along with FE/SO time. I have a feeling i'd be around the low end when it ...
