Re: 100 hours of float time (possible job?)
Depends on allot of factors, including right place right time. I just started on a ramp with a large float operator, starting with me is a guy with no float rating who will complete it later, as well as someone who completed their CPL on floats and has 100 hours. Most operators will be looking at ho...

Re: Float Flying for low time Pilot
Maybe look for a company that has both wheels and floats. Start on the wheels and move to floats when able. This is probably your best bet. You need to be aware though that float flying is different beast from wheels, and most operators that have guys waiting to get onto the small single won't jump...

Re: Electric Float Pump
I realize I'm resurrecting a dead thread but anyone who comes across this thread looking for an answer, here it is. https://www.milwaukeetool.ca/Products/2771-20 The operation I'm at has two of these, with garden hose siliconed to a cut up float plug to get it into the floats. Works like a charm for...

Out of Province Health Coverage
Good Day!
I'm from Ontario and am going to be working in Manitoba this season on a 6 month contract, does anyone have any tips or advice on obtaining health coverage while I'm out there?
Much appreciated!

Re: Canadian Flight Centre and Brampton Flight Centre
Good afternoon, I am interested in getting a PPL, and I would like to know which of these academies are better, Canadian Flight Centre or Brampton Flight Centre, keeping in mind that I would be an international student. in terms of costs I think both are similar, and also both are designated learni...

Re: Best Countries/Operations for low time pilots
Thanks for the input guys, currently searching over Africa and the Caribbean/South America. I have citizenship in Trinidad and Tobago (CARICOM) as well and I hear that helps out lots down south. Based on what I've researched, Africa seems like a wild west in terms of where and who is hiring and frie...

Best Countries/Operations for low time pilots
How's it going everyone, this is my first post here, though I've been doing allot of reading and I really appreciate the wealth of information on this forum. I'm currently a student finishing up my CPL with Mutli/IFR in about 5 months. The instructor rating is a possibility for me but I would much r...
