Re: Our turn to strike ?
From the union whenever you approach them regarding flow, be it the mec, lec chairs or anyone else involved they don’t seem to have much urgency towards resolving the flow issue. They indicate a grievance was filed, but don’t know much else. The company is the exact same, indicating Air Canada is h...

Re: AC Hiring
There's money to be made in the industry right now & it's not at Jazz. The question is - what do you give up, $$ now at a place like Westjet/Transat or seniority & $$ for the rest of your career at AC?

Hopefully, he hires you to clean it up. You'd do anything for a couple of bucks wouldn't you? Can't do anything in this industry without some troll having to comment on it.

Re: Sunwing Cancels All Flights Through June 23
I'm not too worried. There will be a domestic program of some description. By the time June rolls around - there will be a lot more people vaccinated and I'm sure we will be up and running something. A lot of people right now are ignoring orders anyways so I think the traffic is definately there. B...

Re: CPAER Sharper Edge and more
Although I used pilotranining.ca for my CPL I never returned to their products after using it - the value just wasn't there imo. Dependent on your learning style of course, I didn't find listening to archaic content & videos conducive to my learning style and it was clear very little effort was put ...

Re: RVR fluctuating above and below Takeoff Minima???
RVR specified in the METAR is for rwy 23. Therefore, in order to takeoff rwy 05, need to specify the vis requirements - which in this case you do meet the requirement of 1/4 sm. Seems like a function of your typical transport exam question, where that is not necessarily incorrect, however they are p...

Re: Spec Vis Departure
I've requested VFR departures many times on an IFR flight plan and have picked up the clearance once airborne. Works well at Class D/E airports.

Re: Flight test before written exam ?
I mean you can, but why would you want to? Way better idea to just write the INRAT and pass it to prove your knowledge to the examiner before hand, rather than having essentially an oral INRAT exam for your flight test ground brief. Why not ? Too each their own. If you can read & understand CAP pla...

Re: Terrible news for the Air Canada work force...
The generation of pilots that are at the bottom of the ladder will never see aviation as it was in 2019 in their lifetime. The younger generation is scared to death of damn near everything and that will keep enough of them From flying. If we get back to 50 % in 10 years I’d be surprised. NINTY % of...

CMA uses a mix of B1900's & Dash8 Aircraft. Common stops on the milk run include YKA, YLW, YWL, YXS & YYD. It's a blast flying into YDL. Some of the most beautiful scenery I've seen is north of YYD, I've even been lucky enough to overnight in YDL

I don't think a companies cash reserves are there to protect the employees. I'm pretty sure it's to protect the share holders. The cash reserves protect the employees and the shareholders - they exist to insure that the organization does not become insolvent so it may continue operations sometime i...

Re: Entire application process timeline?
I was in the hiring pool last year but took an offer with another 705 company as they offered an earlier GS date - a decision I needed to make for family reasons. I talked to HR at Jazz and withdrew my application. I've applied again recently - just wondering if my chances are low now for getting a...
