Re: AEC OR THE OLD WAY -Mtl
So, I'm one month away from starting the AEC in Lachute and I've just received their class schedule. Turns out, classes will be in the afternoon and evening, which is not what I expected at all. It will make it hard to find a part-time job with this kind of schedule. Also, I've been comparing the AE...

Re: AEC OR THE OLD WAY -Mtl
I visited Lachute Aviation in June for a Fam Flight; I'll be starting their AEC program in September. The reason I chose the AEC instead of the classic modular route is that I prefer being fully immersed in training for a shorter time period. Also, I like the fact that there's a fixed schedule to fo...

Re: Thinking of leaving aviation
Does anyone have a copy of the original post by Stu?
I'm myself trying to figure out if I should jump into this career; maybe Stu's perspective will help me out?

Hi there! If you need specifics about Iqaluit, let me know. I'm the Apron "controller" at CYFB so I know a thing or 2 about airport operations here and stuff to do around town :) Also, I really don't want to come off as rude, but please learn to spell and pronounce Iqaluit before getting here. Sound...

Re: Flight schools in Montreal
Hi there! Lachute Aviation seems to be a great place. I will be starting their AEC program there in september. Call or email them and ask to meet with their staff; super friendly people :) Also, the school and planes are parked about 50 feet away from the runway, so seems like there's barely any wai...

Re: List of all Flight Colleges in Canada?
If you check out the training section of pilotcareercentre.com, you can see a pretty good list of FTU's anywhere across the globe. For Canada, you can search by province, by type of school and by type of training required. https://www.pilotcareercentre.com/tsr1-FlightSchool/Canada-Pilot-Training-Fli...

The obvious solution to this is a circular runway.

Re: Nolinor Job Ad
Frenchand is the language most "Bilingual" Quebecers speak. It's a slight variation from Frenglish; where one would add the letter H to most words beginning with a vowel, and also NOT pronouncing H in words like HOUSE or HANGAR. On a serious note, they obviously made a typo (twice) in that sentence....

Re: AEC Pilote Professionel

Re: Canadian airport designators explained
Up here in Iqaluit, we are CYFB, which stands for Frobisher Bay. Another airport close to us is in the tiny community of Kimmirut, CYLC. Town used to be called Lake Harbour (LC = lake?) In western Nunavut, you'll find CYBB in Kugaaruk, which was once Pelly Bay. Many northern communities returned to ...
