Re: Extended furlough and going back up North
If reaching out on avcanada is your first move, you're probably not well connected enough to get those jobs. Very amusing how in a matter of weeks, "up north" jobs have gone from the ugly duckling to the Belle of the ball. I guess last call came sooner than everyone thought. Definitely not my first...

Extended furlough and going back up North
Hey everyone. In the case of an extended furlough at the big carriers, what are the chances a smaller northern operator or medevac operation would hire experienced guys/gals who don't know how soon they will be recalled? I understand there will be a hesitation to invest in such a pilot, but this thi...

Re: 79 Airplanes Retired
Just because you show surplus does not mean you are getting a furlough. Not immediately you mean? Eventually it will lead to furlough right? Unless the next bid changes the Outlook. But surplus and furlough are two separate things. One is based on the bid, and the other will depend on ACPA MOA, etc...

That's 350 737 pilots, not total new hires. The news media has reported a hiring freeze, which is technically not true, there just hasn't been anyone hired into 737 positions.

A bit off topic, but does anyone know how the hiring at TS is going in the meantime? I heard fall classes were moved up to summer, but I don't know if it actually happened. What kind of numbers are we talking?

Re: MPIC time or move on? What's next?
Seniority, not MPIC, makes you recession proof at a 705 company like Jazz. They have a brand new agreement that keeps job security at jazz for the foreseeable future. So what if you end up on a turboprop. Once you have seniority, you can bid on the jet if it fills your boots. I didn't go to jazz, st...

Re: AC application post-secondary question
Many of us have flown with people that got their multi-IFR privately that can't even fly straight and level on instruments. There's no way to pass a college course with that level of competency. Wow. I've also flown with and heard of enough College know-it-alls who are absolutely horrible to fly wi...

Re: 737 max
Yeah, once you get airborne, you smoothly release the rudder input you were using to keep straight on the runway. Then, no more rudder. At least on the Embraer and Airbus. Then you could guard the pedals till 10,000 ft if it makes you feel better or if you have an a-hole Captain who keeps telling yo...

I don't believe the music has stopped. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but ground school dates are proceeding as scheduled as far as I know.

Re: Commuting YYJ to YVR
Can anyone here who does this commute (I'm planning a move to YCD) tell me how difficult this commute might be on say a 320 schedule? I'm thinking 737 out of YVR wouldn't be that bad with all the good flying coming soon. Might make it even worse on the 320...?
