Re: New North Star Basler Accident

Is it just me, or do the ads that pop up between every post make this site almost unusable? Not just you. Long loading times and way too much battery and data usage as well. It is becoming expensive to use this website. I run Ad Blocker Pro which loads through Safari on my IPad and works great as I...

Re: August Equip Bid

The biggest barrier to Jazz providing 60% going forward (for example 0.6 x 600 = 360) for 2020 is the lack of qualified candidates (ATPL plus 2000 hours). The big winners will be the recent Jazz hires who meet these minimum qualifications and could leapfrog those that do not. So is it not a 2 year ...

Re: Arthritis

You can ask your TC Doctor. I suspect it's the same as blood pressure medication. Transport Canada doesn't have a policy on it. The FAA requires you take a week to make sure you are stabilized on a new prescription, but transport has no information available, My mom used to get cortisone shots and ...

Has anyone on here ever had to get a cortisone shot? I need one in my knee, I'm just wondering how transport feels about this.

Re: okotoks flight school

I just started working there not too long ago and its a very different type of flight school. We just had a guy last week pass his flight test in 44.9hrs! It's still a new school with kinks to work out but a much better option than the nearby big operations By your posts it sounds like this is you ...

Re: New hire bids

You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. I haven't seen the lifestyle at Encore, but I am right to be skeptical about Jazz based on the fact that they make you agree to move somewhere before telling you where. They have a commuting policy and therefore aren't telling you to move anywhere. As...

Re: King Air at Gillam, MB

These aircraft are G1000 equipped. Provided you punch in the right fuel load on start up it will automatically calculate what you will have on descent and be reasonably accurate.

For any 250hr person accepting the job, my sympathies that's the best option you could find. No doubt you'll upgrade super quick. After that, get your ATPL signed off ASAP, and once your year is done, leave on the day your bond is done. 2000hrs and an ATPL, you could find a job nearing 100 grand. K...

Re: Class 1 restricted medical fly with another pilot

My advice to you would be get all your time building done right now before they put that restriction on. I would even try doing your CPL training with your cat 3 that way you have no issue. You only need the cat 1 to do the flight test and probably the written too if I remember correctly.

I think it’s safe to say with those vacancies that every new hire for the next year or so will be on the Q in YVR!
Anyone know how accurate this is? I would love to be on the Q in YVR.
Yes it seems to have the highest vacancies on it.

Based on first hand experience. But I totally agree with you that they will have to come up with a better plan otherwise they are going to run out of applicants real quick.

Overall it's a fun job and a very good company though.

If Air Georgian is still hiring (and I assume desperate as usual) why not apply there. Sounds like you’ll only have to endure their garbage for a short amount of time, begining your theoretical Jazz seniority sooner as heard provbably taking people ASAP and give yourself a shot at going to AC right...
