Re: Covid Vaccine Approval & Medicals
Here is the latest from Transport Canada QUOTE: · It remains the general position of Transport Canada (TC) Civil Aviation Medicine (CAM) that participation in medical trials is not considered compatible with aviation medical certification. This remains true for the trial of vaccines. · However, TC C...

Covid Vaccine Approval & Medicals
Both the FAA and TC state that a Covid Vaccine will cancel our medicals.
Does anyone know what their position will be after the vaccines are given emergency approval?

If you read the posts, like many schools they have been short of an instructor or instructors. The promises are realistic providing the instructors meet the expected standards and that the students are not in the categories known for taking a longer than normal time. As for the comparisons with othe...

Re: Anxiety past. Do I have any chance of getting Cat 1 Medical?
I've seen this discussion verbally with several experienced pilots. First, the description given here is called "a reactive disorder". That is, circumstances beyond the posters control caused the anxiety that is only human and normal. If the stressors no longer exist, it should not be a problem. If ...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
The RFP appears to be written in generic language. Seven aircraft, that covers most. A lifting system for bariatric patients, that describes Perimeter. The government is avoiding publicity and keeping it low key, alluding that "no decision" is the way it will "appear" to go. This could well be a del...

Re: Do the majors even consider a loser with a pardoned DUI?
The above posts contain a lot of speculation and false information. 1. The United States (U.S.) does not deny entry to persons that has a "Driving Under the Influence" (DUI) conviction. That's it. Period. If you have other convictions or other "history" that is another story. But assuming its a sing...

Re: Anyone had a RAIC pass lately? Wait time?
The responses are exactly what I've been hearing from an airline's RAIC card person. Any male pilot can be the victim of a vindictive female who makes false allegations. No matter how bizarre those allegations are, they run a better than 50% chance of charges, and unfortunately, if charges, a 50% ch...

Re: Want to work in Canada? Read this first, please!
Its tragic that in Canada there are a lot of "rednecks" who don't like immigrants. Let's set the record straight. It is EXTREMELY EASY for you to move to Canada and work here as a flight instructor or pilot. The Immigration issue is also very easily solved. Contact the right employer and they will b...

Cessna 150 aka "Regina Flying Club"
Employers should provide some details rather than force everyone to "download" their document. It's not something you really want to do if you are using a phone and have limited bandwidth or time. Then there is that "no phone calls, please" That problem is solved rapidly. If they are not interested ...

Re: Navajo lands on the street in yyc
I've just read the report - and this report appears to be "redacted" that is, essential information appears to have been removed from the report. When I've seen similar "redacted" reports, it could be seen as the politicization of an accident report to assist the operator with its insurance premiums...

Re: Anyone had a RAIC pass lately? Wait time?
I think you know exactly what I'm getting at and that you don't like the post because its not what you want to see. Most airlines require RAIC eligibility. If a group are known to get extensive delays to the issue of a RAIC it amounts to intimidation by TC, to employers, not to hire those who "might...

Re: Anyone had a RAIC pass lately? Wait time?
It appears TC can take a very long time in issuing RAIC cards. I've looked at the TC material and the Federal Court cases and came up with what many must think is obvious, but, it appears to be what controls them. The time taken appears to be for "the Director of Security Screening Programs is satis...

Re: If you need a new flashlight
I will post on the 18650 Battery. Most of the batteries sold on Ebay are junk especially the cheaper ones. You will need a stand alone charger. My experience is that these are capable of charging even a "dead" 18650 as the charger detects what is going on and applies the right charge. The best 18650...

Re: Manitoba Govt Air Services to be Privatised
Ontario is a good example of how a Government can screw up a good system by enabling a few to basically steal tax payers funds. Now that there is a Conservative government in Ontario, it stands to reason, that they could, out of conservative principles, just tear up ONGE for no other reason than to ...
