What to do next?
I finished my PPL, gained a lot of hours and I think I'm ready to move on. My end goal is CPL Multi IFR, with an ATPL eventually. What should I go ahead and do next? My plan currently is CPL next, then Instrument, and finally Multi Engine. Are there any requirements in terms of the order I do things...

Re: Sault and Confederation Applicants. Check here.
Does anybody here have the scoop on Conestoga? Not as fancy and as well known as Sault & Confed, but still a good program apparently (I've been told from recent grads and people currently in the program). It will also apparently get you to the major airlines. Wondering what you guys have to say abou...

Re: Sault and Confederation Applicants. Check here.
There is a lot of overlap between the colleges with early offers of acceptance. Each college may have 80 spots, but the same 80 people could get early acceptance to every college despite there being a few hundred spots to fill. The programs are not easy to upgauge so the colleges cannot start offer...

Re: Sault and Confederation Applicants. Check here.
Hey guys, so I contacted the program coordinator for Sault and she just got back to me a few minutes ago. She says that offers have not been sent out yet and they are still under the process of ranking applicants. No idea when they will send out offers, but whenever it does happen it will first upda...

Re: Are all aviation college diplomas equal?
As one who graduated from the Conestoga program, and has been bypassed on the new PML for folks who went to another program that are junior to me, I suspect they are not treated equally. Graduated with distinction, 4000 hours, ATPL. Hey, I got accepted to Conestoga's Fast Track program with an end ...

Re: Sault and Confederation Applicants. Check here.
Hey, log into the confed account (you can find all the info on the email they sent after you applied) You can check your application status. Apparently I've been waitlisted at confed. It says waitlisted decisions happen in march :( Yeah, I also got waitlisted for Confed as well. Hopefully we'll hea...

Re: Sault and Confederation Applicants. Check here.
Hey, don't accept it just yet. Colleges have quite a bit of time to send offers. I'll be waiting till the third week of February before I really start thinking about a decision. I know a friend who got an offer in mid February. He was an Ontario resident. I'll be waiting longer since I'm out of pro...

Re: Sault and Confederation Applicants. Check here.
Well, Feb. 1st is here and so far I have gotten an offer into the Conestoga college program. Not sure if I should just accept it now and cancel it if another more preferred school accepts me down the line, or if I should just wait on it. Don’t want to wait too long and get waitlisted into Conestoga...

Re: Thoughts on BFC 2019?
Following this. Did my PPL at the BFC, great environment but aircraft availability is an issue. Although college students have their flights pre-booked well in advance on the online booking system, so I think it should be alright. From what I heard, the IATPL and 1 Year College program are very good...

Re: Sault and Confederation Applicants. Check here.
Seems a silly time to leave, you must have been close to the home stretch. There were a number of reasons. The strike definitely played a part. However the school is now know for falling behind. If you plan on going to the Sault, expect to spend four years there, instead of the advertised three. I ...

Hello Everyone, I'm a student from Alberta who applied to Sault and Confederation. I'd love to connect on here with everyone as offers are going out in February. I think it will help tremendously in the future. Hey, I'm from Ontario and applied to Sault, Confederation, and a few others as well back...

Sault or Confed Comparison
So Sault has its problems these days apparently (according to current and former students). Many are dropping out and finishing their studies at other colleges or privately. Many have informed me to steer clear of the program and go elsewhere, a place that I always get recommended to is Confederatio...

Sault College Aviation Question
I have applied to numerous colleges. However, I am hoping to go to Sault College. Sault College claims that there are no minimum grades for acceptance into the program, and acceptance is based off of the Grade 12 math course, and Grade 12 english course, as well as a "first come - first serve" basis...

Deferred Defect Control Sheet Explanation
Hi Myself and a couple of buddies that just started flying were looking through an aircraft Journey Log Book and noticed the very first thing was a "Deferred Defect Control Sheet", which only had information of the ELT and/or Transponder being removed or installed in the aircraft. Just a question fo...

PPL Flight Test Preparation/Studying
Hey, What is the best way to study for the PPL Flight Test ground portion/oral test? I am not too worried about the air items since I'm alright with those. However, I don't think I know much about the ground items besides the speeds, emergency procedures, and basics of the C152. I just recently purc...

Hello everyone, What kind of ground questions can I expect on the PPL Flight Test? Are they questions like on the written exam that have one specific answer that they look for, or are they route and aircraft type specific questions...or both? Also, does your written exam results determine what kind/...

Sharpers Edge/Canadian Private Pilot Answer Guide
Hello all, I am currently studying for my PPL Written and I was wondering if the notes in Sharpers Edge are really all I need to study for the test. I've heard a few people say that all they've studied is the Sharpers Edge book and the Canadian Private Pilot Answer Guide and they got 90% on the test...
