Carb Temperature Gauge
Hi,
On the plane I fly there is a carb temperature gauge that has an O-350 lycoming engine.
There is a yellow zone, but no red zone on the gauge.
How should this gauge be used to determine the potential (or actual) of developing carb ice?

Group 3 IFR to Group 1 IFR using IPC
If I have my group 3 IFR, can I then schedule an IPC in a multi if I am multi rated and then just get signed off from the IPC and get my group 1? Or would I have to do a group 1 flight test with a pass/fail(cuz you can’t “fail” an IPC) to get my group 1? I would already be instrument rated with my g...

Re: Could I get a Cat 4 done while waiting for my Cat 1 results?
If I want to get my and use the CPL, i will have to do my CAT1 medical. I already hold a CAT3. So, I get my CAT1 medical done, then it's sent off to TC, and I can fly as a private pilot under my CAT3 until my CAT1 is approved? I don't give up my CAT3, correct? Im reading this that I can have both my...

Re: Could I get a Cat 4 done while waiting for my Cat 1 results?
I'm a bit confused. Before someone applied for a CAT1 medical, wouldn't they have had a CAT3 medical and qualified for that already? Im guessing I'm wrong, but can't you fly under the privileges of the CAT3 (non commercial)? What is the actual difference in the medical exam between a CAT3 and CAT1 m...

INRAT Extension NCR-136-2020
Hi,
Does anybody know if NCR-136-2020 is still valid and the INRAT can be extended for anytime? I passed my INRAT in April 2021 and I'm trying to find out if this is still valid and if I can extend my 24 month INRAT validity as I have not been able to do my flight test yet.
Thanks

Cylinders replaced
Hi there,
we had the cylinders replaced on our O-350 engine and we will be flying for 25 hours on mineral oil. Any performance or other notable approach to breaking in the cylinders for the first 25 hours?
thanks

Repairing a Broken arm rest in 172RG
Hello All, I am looking for a shop in the Toronto area that can fix a broken armrest in the toronto area. It is the LH arm rest. I think it is a piece of plastic that can get painted and then replaced. It would probably make sense to replace the pax side one too to keep it looking the same on both s...

Hi,
has anyone here managed to get insurance on an RG (182/172/etc) aircraft prior to getting their PPL and if so, which insurance company insured that?
Thanks,
