Doesn’t take a genius to figure it out, the names of the “steering committee” are right there on that website.

Re: Correction

Hey, it's just a small thing, but could one of you dudes, dudettes, or non-binariettes let your MEC know there's a typo in their email header? It's the second email in a row like this. I'm sure they know they don't represent the WestJet pilots. They just need to add the word "Encore" and everything...

Wasn’t Sunwing putting college grads into the 737 a few years back? Don’t see why this is big news?

Those that will be affected when the “one list” disappears. Covid has brought to light the issues with the one list and the companies ability/willingness to circumvent it. It’s only a matter of time before it’s voted out.

Re: Encore Recalls

Safe to assume those spots will all be filled with mainline pilots? Given the recent round of 400 layoffs and the fact most of them had a fair amount of seniority. Sounds like this is all new guys. This isn't a reduction bid. It's gonna be all laid off guys That is correct. Even though there’s goin...

Re: Porter receiving E195-E2?

There’s a possibility they’re telling the truth to the media when they said there’s no plans for Porter to fly these jets. If Porter Aviation Holding did buy these planes, it’s likely the parent company is looking to diversify and get into the aircraft leasing business. With ULCC’s popping up around...

Re: ALPA Criticizes Cargojet

ALPA’s response should be an article how Cargojet’s tactics are nothing more than employee intimidation. The Cargojet pilots collective agreement is public knowledge, they could compare their pay scales to those of their US competitors. Would paint a pretty clear picture that utilizing American pilo...

Re: Age 67 or 69

This thread has gone off the rails. But for the older pilots hoping to stay on longer and feeling as though they should get sympathy/support from the younger pilots is delusional. The younger generation has every right to look out for themselves and want older pilots to retire and vacate left seats/...

Re: My god is this journalism? Colin D’Mello CTV

Colin D’Mello from CTV questions Doug Ford. Starts at 8:10 https://youtu.be/nA3LIchTekQ#t=8m10s What a POS this guy is. Asking how Doug has the “moral authority to lead” through this pandemic. He also says the NDP says he has “blood on his hands”. “So and so says this about you...how does that make...

Re: More WJ layoffs

Ummm, ok Westjet pilots flying in April and onwards are now being paid FULL PAY for their position. 100% MMG plus the 20% WSP(ESP). Full WAWCON as per the contract. For the first time ever, WJ pilots are actually the highest paid airline pilots in Canada right now. With the highest rate of unemploy...

It should be painfully clear to WestJet pilots by now that they were let down by a few individuals who did not even trust them and made the decision for them as benevolent kings do for their subjects. Re: WestJet statement on Goverment funding for AC

I don't see any issue with that. It's just a statement of fact. I just think coming out right away saying that after months of playing the sympathy card while making permanent reductions isn’t needed. I get the decision by Onex to not take a similar package, they’re not hurting for cash so there’s ...

Re: WestJet statement on Goverment funding for AC

Early in the pandemic the same CEO played the sympathy card in the media, saying how devastated their business is and announcing the permanent reduction of many positions for cheaper outsourcing options (csa’s, ramp staff and call centre employees) across the country, in addition to the many tempora...

Before the pandemic Transat was doing OK. Not making money hand over fist but not too bad. They had a great product and reputation. Thats why AC wanted them. But the Pandemic showed Justin has no intention of helping dirty airlines. And my point stands, investors see this and dont want to lose mone...

Re: "Three possible Transat suitors say they are not interested in acquiring struggling airline"

I think it may be tough to find someone willing to buy the company for what, 200 million and then on top of that cover the 250-300 million credit that's currently coming due AND find another 500 million to keep the place afloat for the year? That's nearly a billion dollars to buy an airline in a co...

With Pilot being a defined term "A pilo...
