Re: Pilots in waiting NWAL Post
It's more the "pilot in waiting" idea in general. While I don't have an issue with it per se , it's the uncertainty around it I abhor - The "6-24 month waiting time, depending on company demand" caveat. I don't think that practice is acceptable. Now if, on the other hand, the arrangement is "you wi...

Re: Decide Aviation College
Just really interested in the BCIT program myself but I don’t know if it’s hard to get in. Does anyone know from experience and can you give me a overview of your experience of the programs and getting in? Thanks Did BCIT in 2016. It isnt really made public how many in total apply, but I think out ...

Re: ASA CX3 flight computer or cellphone app?
I did my training in the last 5 years and completed my last ATPL exam end of 2019. I never bothered buying the CX-3 simply because I am cheap. I used my buddies a few times and yeah they are great. Really if you have the CX-3 you can probably afford a paper e6b as backup anyways. Its silly to argue ...

Abbotsford Office, January. Two weeks for the call that it was signed off, three for the sticker. Just barely over a lot of requirements.

Re: Kenn Borek Air
For a low time pilot, Kenn Borek is hard to beat if you have a hankering for some adventure and don't mind being away from home for 6-8 months a year. Yes it is still rotational, but only once you are out of the office. It's anywhere from 6 months to a year before getting a seat on the Twin or the B...

Re: Jump Pilot or Aerial Photo Pilot?
You’re already trained up at your current company and get to stay at home? I’d stay right where you are man. Not worth having a record of screwing over a company like that, especially to make a sideways move to be doing essentially the same thing. Cessna time is cessna time, but there are a lot more...

I see your AOC is still listed as suspended by the agency. Do they do that for all "voluntary" shutdowns Steve?

Re: KD Air not flying
KD Air is just now saying they voluntarily ceased operations, however CTA website is saying the suspension was been initiated by the agency (TC) back on January 23rd. I wonder if they have continued selling non-refundable tickets in that time frame.. https://forms.otc-cta.gc.ca/licences/licence_eng....

I have a question about PasCo. I’m in Edmonton and just started building PIC doing pipelines. But I’m from Vancouver Island and ultimately want to work with someone like Pacific so that I can live my west coast lifestyle and fly for a good company long term. My question is, I know they have posted ...

Re: “Pilot schedules”
703. Standard Sched (recently revised) is:
4 Days on: Days are usually divided between two crews, average 7 hours on if all goes as planned, 3.5 hours logged.
1 Day Standby: 1 hour call out, usually on for 9 hours before being released.
2 Days off..
Seems to be working pretty well so far

I have heard a couple "rumours" that the Redbird Sims no longer qualify for doing IPC's.... Anybody in the know on this one?? I wasn't a huge fan of the "Tilt-A-Whirl"... but they provided an affordable option for training & renewals. Yup, redbirds are now out. For example, currently training in BC...
