Re: Kobe Bryant chopper crash

Hi all,

Condolences to the friends and family of the victims, whoever they may be.

Let us get this back on track, to the point of aviation safety and investigation. A machine with good safety record crashed due to unknown reasons!

Aloft FLight Log

Good evening!

Does anyone on here have a copy of the installer Skymark Technologies Aloft Flight Log Commercial version 4?

Or if you have and use Version 5, you may also be able to help me out!

Thanks!

Nippon Cargo - CYXY May 23, 1013

I didn't expect to see this when I rounded the corner on the way to work today! Sure dwarfs the 737's we usually see. Article calls it a 747-400, but looks like a 747-8, FY http://www.ckrw.com/news/view/1688:plane-makes-emergency-landing-in-whitehorse A faulty indicator is being blamed after a Nippo...

Re: Full flap/specialty landings - 172

What I find funny about this topic is that throughout training for my PPL, a normal landing is full flap (Cessna 150). I forget it if was 30 or 40 degrees (most likely 30), but I carried that over to the 172 (with 40) once the school 'upgraded'. When I went down to ZBB to finish off my CPL, full fla...

Re: Time for a new Logbook??

The easier, and neater way is to do a correction entry - such as for route put: Correction due to addition error, and add the missing hours in the appropriate column. Then when you total that page, your time will be accurate. Since all your individual flights should be accurate, this just neatly cor...

Re: Min altitude over a blasting area

A couple years ago they were doing some blasting to make a road near the mobile home park I have a trailer in. The crews did not use proper precautions on some blasts, as they thought they were far enough away, but nonetheless, among a mesload of debris (rock) a basketball sized chunck crashed throu...

Re: Discontinuing the V.H.F D.F service

Ive observed on one occasion Tower here at YXY bring an aircraft down through 4000' thick overcast, with no fuel, gps or ifr equipment, by steering him towards Lake Laberge, and back in for the runway. Saved his butt, and those he might have hit on the ground. It's a great tool for ATC to have, imo....

GPIR Requesting simulated NDB RWY Xx Princeton with missed approach to DC

or something like that :)

they'd most likely give you clearance something like:

GPIR is cleared simulated NDB XX Princeton, remain visual at all times

edit: YCD .. YDC.. same diff :p

Re: What would you do?

Like I said, well handled between the two of you! Another option I was waiting to see if anyone brought up, because I didn't even think of it, but Chilliwack (CYCW) is another option in that scenario. It is probably the only accessible constantly lit runway aside from YVR in the area, and being 47 m...

What would you do?

Hello! The other night a friend of mine Was flying from Victoria (CYYJ) to Boundary Bay (CZBB). It was around midnight, and good VFR. They were just switched over to talk to Vancouver Tower to pass through some airspace, when the radio went dead. After squaking 7600, they proceeded to continue to ZB...

Re: An so it begins....Roll up the rim

I saw the saddest thing the other day. While standing in line, to order myself a coffee, the person in front of me had a thermos to fill up with coffee. The lady working that till, took a small roll up the rim cup, put the cream and sugar in it, poured it into the thermos, then went to the coffee ma...

Re: Aztec left gear problems

When the gear handle is in the 'up' position, where you said the gear doesn't sag, doesn't that mean the hydraulic pump is constantly running? I stopped there to see what you would say - basically, look at the AFM (POH) for the Aztec, and check what the limit between having to cycle the hydraulic p...
