TC Overstepping

From the Facebook BC Float Pilot page... Fort Langley Air Ltd. Understandably, many people are interested in knowing why Fort Langley Air Ltd. (FLA) ceased operating. As such, and to set the record straight, this is the story of FLA's final chapter, direct from the source, and it's a cautionary tale...

Re: Beaver wages

Showing up counts more than anything. Do a road trip and call every 703 float operator on the TC Air Operator Registry. I suspect you won't have too much trouble finding a part time dock part time pilot gig. I got my first float job with less time thank you and a fresh float rating. Good luck!

18 guarantee but averaged 21. Scheduled Wx cancellation days were full pay. Was based in a nice town so could do things on my days off. With remote work not based in a big town I have been paid every day I am away from home.

TC is a government organization so there are online employees directories. Try calling or emailing directly to employees, I was able to get my ATPL same day by emailing a licensing officer, I'm not sure the title of who would best serve you.

Re: The end of Flair?

How many of those bought one of the sub-$50 deals? Not only that, but that's the total price; the fare on a $29 ticket is $15.50. Add in the 20% discount code that's available for all bookings, and that brings it down to $12.40. Even if 14000 people bought tickets, and even if we're generous and as...

More than 14 000 people didn't think twice about buying tickets on Flair once the online payment thing was sorted out. Nearly a one day record for us. Website redirects to expedia now. Flights are sold as "World Ticket 1544" operated by Flair. Pretty janky at best. WorldTicket (W1) was founded in 2002 and it's a virtual airline that is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. They also have offices in four other countries including China, Thailand, P...

I just bring it from cruise back to 18 and land. Having flown one with a CHT guage anytime I tried to stage cool it would cause the CHT's to go up as you end up slowing down. Try to leave the power on till the roundout.

Can get upgrossed to 5600lbs on the whip amphibs which is comparable useful load to a stock beaver. Can get the uprgoss with or without the amphibs tho. Has a very niche market where theyre worth the weight.

If you really need it for any particular reason, call transport and ask the status of the rating. If its in the printing que, then order a replacement ADB (your current was rendered illegible, costs $35) and it will have the new rating printed on it, takes about 2 weeks currently.
