Re: Pilot Hiring outlook

I believe we are at 45-4600 pilots at the moment and the outlook that has been projected in the fleet meetings is around 6000 by 2025. Basically 40-50 pilots hired every 2 weeks for the foreseeable future. If a pilot wants YYZ or YUL, they will probably get it. YVR wouldn't take very long to get to...

Congrats!

I've heard a rumour that they ask you to print out your online profile with all your exam/tests from TC. Is that true? What other paperwork did you have to take with you to the interview?

Re: How difficult is it to become an RCAF pilot?

After 25 years you will get a pension of around 70k per year, inflation protected and with survivor benefits. I would suggest looking up how much it would cost to buy an annuity with similar payout and then ask how you are going to get that amount in your company’s DC pension The CAF DB pension is ...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job

I know one person who was/is in the reserve and had never been through the RCAF. He was hired by 402 Sqn, was an airline pilot. He did the King Air wings course in Portage and flew the Dash 8. Do you have a name? Been around 402 for a while and haven't heard if this in recent years. He was there ci...

Re: RCAF reserve as a second job

JcPd_flyer, Waaaay back in time I went through boot camp with a guy joining as a reserve pilot. He was already slotted to fly helos in Borden (near Barrie ON). He had to do the BOTC - basic officer training course - then 10 months of French (very very important in the eyes of Trudeau the smarter), ...

Re: Joining the RCAF at 37 years old

I got the same message as above from a recruiter. The recruiter was a Navy petty officer. When looking into CEOTP the navy PO said... “ you will have absolutely no clue how to fly our aircraft and we’ll need to start training you from scratch.” - I found this a bit odd. Probably because the Navy PO...

Re: Military license to CPL

Hey all, I have a question regarding converting my military pilot license to a CPL. CARS 421.30.4.a.ii.B states that I require solo flight training post PPL to obtain the CPL. The trouble is in military training under the program I did I didn’t get any more than around 5 hours of solo, all the trai...

Any word on what they were assigned for equipment?
