Re: Updated salary tables 2024
Thanks for the update. I'm not so concerned with the total compensation numbers, although I realise that changes the picture significantly. WS pilots have been cash poor, T4 rich for a long time, having a high pension match, profit share, etc is great, but I know several people who are paycheque to ...

Re: New maintenance contract
Canadian North and Porter AMEs have seen their wages increased to $50+ because of the competition for staff. Air Canada also recently gave out an unprecedented $7.50 an hour (roughly 16%) increase to the top end pay effective immediately outside of the current agreement with the only condition that...

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?
So under the new contract can the just pile on as much OT as they want? At straight time no less? Can they force you to work on GDOs? And how much of the above could they do on the previous contract? I still don't quite get how ALOT more money for 10hrs less work per month is so bad. Perhaps the an...

Re: Updated salary tables 2024
Updated as of June 10, 2023, so a year out of date. It's been a big year for airline pilot wages in Canada and the biggest player hasn't even checked in yet.TurkeyFarmYQX wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 4:41 pm Sure, just go to safeflights.ca
A newer one is posted there.

Re: Updated salary tables 2024
Back to the original question, the pay comparison tables in the Safe Flights web site are completely out of date. https://safeflights.ca/index.php?page=wage-comparison-canada Lynx, and Swoop don't exist, Sunwing effectively doesn't exist, the pay scales for Flair, Porter, and Canadian north have all...

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?
At least it's not as bad as the dog shit sandwich Encore accepted. Mmm, I have to disagree. Encores overall contract is significantly stronger than the Flair one from the get go. Yes the last agreement doesn’t have a big enough pay bump, but it is a Q operator after all and they are all under paid....

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?
I am curious if the number of expats drove the yes vote. If they were used and abused in the Middle East, this increase is a walk in the park for them. Most of the expats seemed to be leaning No on the group chats, and anyone with Union experience seemed to see right through this. Unfortunately FO ...

Re: Agreement in principle reached.
Read it well, ask yourself what the intent is of every line. How could the company use this and then hide behind the wording. Look at words like "may, should, might, etc" with serious doubt. You want to see words like shall.

Re: help with 703 training exams
Whatever you do, make them watch the TC video about the Dryden inquiry...."tell the tower we're going back"
It's not particularly good training, but I've had to watch it 20 times so the new generation should have to suffer through it too.

Re: How will Immediate roadside prohibition affect career as an airline pilot ?
The RAIC isn't the only problem, if you don't take care of this properly you may have difficulty travelling to the US which is a major part of life at most airlines. If you've been charged with a criminal offence in Canada even if you weren't convicted, US customs can see that on your record. I'd ta...

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?
This is a cruel joke. ... Feel free to add in Flair's massive 3% pension match up to year 5, 4% up to year 10. It won't change the colour of any of your pretty columns, but apples to apples and all since you included WS's pension rsp thing... I bet Porter’s resume stack got larger today I bet if it...

Re: Strike Vote: 97% in Favour
Something I found online Why does everything feel so unaffordable? According to the pre-1983 CPI calculation method, inflation is nearly TRIPLE what current CPI data says. If you used pre-1983 CPI, inflation peaked at 18% in November 2022 and currently stands at a whopping 8%. Under this method, ho...

What is trip rig? https://www.alpa.org/ala/-/media/ALA/files/eLibrary/public/7483-NTS-Glossary.pdf?la=en The ALPA glossary has a lot of terms that are thrown around in avcan-space on a daily basis that I didn't know until recently. It's a great reference for some of the discussions here with upcomi...

Re: Any Update On The New Contract?
So yes that's the pay being offered but at 75 mmg. That's the end of the good news, unfortunately as with all things Flair, they want us to take concessions to get it. I'll wait and see how the town hall goes before deciding how to vote.

Re: The end of Flair?
Look no further than Lynx. In a year they had $100 million in ticket revenue.......but only $6 million in ancillary sales. For a segment that basically relies on those sales to survive - that doesn't bode very well for them. Lynx had no buy on board at all, their only ancillary revenue was from bag...

Nobody that knows is talking yet. All we know is that ALPA has received an LOU for wage increases from the company, and will being doing a roadshow to present it to the members.

Problem is, he is so blind that the building is crumbling around him but he doesn’t see it, he’s just sitting at the table sipping on his koolaid. The “glitches” are frequent and not conducive to a successful outcome. How many people will think twice about booking with Flair due to these problems. ...
